    Question Nitrous bottle valve replacement

ZEX shipped the wrong valve w/early 82177 kits and the universal blow down tube will not fit. The sent a replacement valve that I've been sitting on and now I’m thinking about swapping them out.

The only reason to do this is for a blow down tube and the bottle is installed in the trunk. So my first question is should I bother?

If I do swap the valve I don't believe I have the tools to hold the bottle while breaking loose and spinning off the valve, then there's the reverse tightening issue.

Does anyone have any tips-n-tricks or know what I can search for to find someone that does this?

You will probably get two different ideas here. My first couple times with tech inspection, the guy said as long as your bottle is in an enclosed trunk, you dont need a blow down tube. Of course on my third time to the same track, the guy says you need one because your back seats fold down. He let me go and Ive been back since, but seems like you will get more than one rule on this one.

    Dan,
I know I am tempting fate on this one but E-Town asked you to open your hood/trunk during inspection? I have never had them ask me anything more than to see my helmet. I guess my Mag looks less menacing than your evil Black SRT.

Guys... If we are talking... What can I get away with... That's one thing.

But don't discount the safty factor here... Do you really want to inhale a cloud of automitive grade nitrous oxide while dragging?

I installed mine, and made sure it was routed outside the car. Erik has his installed too.

Go to the place that fills your bottle... I'm sure they'll do it for you if you aren't comfortable.

It isn’t going to take much to punch a hole and vent the tube so I guess I’ll play it safe and also circumvent any issues that might arise from fold down seats. I’m going to call a couple shops that fill bottles around here and see if they can help.

Thanks for the ideas and thoughts, as always their priceless!

Side Note: I’m disappointed to find out the stuff we run isn’t pharmaceutical grade reguardless I got in my yayas when I was younger, I will not be caught in a N20 fog now a days except at the dentist office. Fog on...

The place that filled mine put it on for me. Just have them put it on when you go to get it filled.

My Magnum has LARGE drain looking holes with flimsy looking "plates" in them that I will drill to put the tube through. That way, I can pick a spare and I'm sure they don't cost more than a couple bucks and be able to return to stock. Does the charger have the same???

I mounted my tank on a piece of 1/2 MDF, and its on the lower floor. Can I extend the blow down tube with rubber hose???

That's what I need... the big bottle vise! I envisioned myself wrestling with the bottle in the garage and loosing, it's just to damn hot to do that.

Yes they do mhigham, I'll use one if it's in the right spot, otherwise I'll make my own and have a holy car

That's what I did... I don't think it has to hold much pressure since it's just venting out.

Dude, You Already Have A Bottle Vise. It Is Called Your Bottle Brackets. Once You Drain The Bottle The Valve Is Not That Tight, Just Use A Wrench. On My Bottles (yes, I Said Bottles. I Have 16 Bottles For My Outlaw Street Car, That 2 Per Run) We Can Just Hold The Bottle In Our Hand And Wrench Off The Valve. It Is Just An O-ring Seal.
