so i have a new shake in my RT AWD...it seems like ESP is trying to limit me...

the conditions for this to happen are WOT or near WOT, ESP on, and 1st gear (auto or autostick)

at about 4500-5000 RPM the car surges with power for a sec, loses power for a sec, back and forth a couple times until either I let off the gas and it shifts, or until 5800-6000 RPM, where it will go to 6250 normally and redline.

The only powertrain mods are a superchips programmer, set to 87 tune, paddle hold, and reduce torque management, and a CAI (airraid). this has only started recently...about a month after i last tuned it...what could this be? i doubt i'm making enough power for ESP to kick in at that point...

does it do it with the superchips unloaded from the PCM? 6200 RPM is pretty high for a stock long block RT too, but thats your call.

dunno...have to try when i get back to rochester...6250 is the raised RPM that the s/c has in the settings...theres no real custom settings on that its really just setting A or B...so im not sure. will remove tune next week to check.

Mine does this too when I hit the gas in a lower gear and have ESP on, it will do a "Surge" type effect. It doesn't do this with ESP off, so I assume that has something to do with it... one reason why I just hit the ESP button every time I get in the car (yes, I will eventually do one the of the mods, but it is xmas and I don't have the funds).

Is it possible you are experiencing valve float?. Try reducing the raised shiftpoints. If you dyno, you will see power is way down at that rpm unless you have an aftermarket cam. Most people with the cams are using heavier valve springs. If you turn of ESP do you get the vibration?

it has only happened once with ESP off...but always happens with ESP on. again, all that i have is a superchips tuner with the 87 program installed and a CAI. otherwise i'm completely stock.
