Need to be patient to get an RT

Went to Chris Dodge in San Jose CA earlier this week. They said they were going to, (and did), post an ad in today's paper that said there was no markup if you ordered your RT this weekend. Implies that the market is finally starting to slow down. Two problems though: They also said that all RTs slated for October sale in CA are sold and there's a 6-8 week delivery wait.

Granted the Magnum is one of the hotest new cars to hit the market of recent history but even DC is starting to see the same problems as the other makers in selling cars in 2005. GM and Ford 2004 inventories are very high and 2005 models are not selling well either.

Wait a little longer for RT supply to catch up with demand and pricing will drop.
Assets: 2005 Red Magnum RT, 1967 Mustang Coupe, 1968 Mustang Fastback w/5.0L EFI, 1972 Chevelle Wagon w/Ls1

I'm finding the amount over sticker and rarity is relative to distance to a major Ca city. Closer they are the more they want. If you are willing to drive outside of town aways there are a few scattered around the state. Closest one for me at sticker is about a 7 hour drive. I'm not giving up on finding one closer yet though.

That's totally crappy crappy crappy. We are feeling the greed factor in Canada too. One dealership that I went to the salesman was very rude by being condescending and boldly stating "Don't expect to get any discount whatsoever!!" He stated this even after the fact that I told him I worked at Brampton Assembly. The idiot then proceeds to try and hand me his card. I refused it telling him I "No Thanks if I'm going to spend this much money I should be shown a little better attitude" and I kept on shoppin. Happy hunting

I have done a quick search for those of us in Southern Ontario have have found the following dealers with RT's on the lot:

    5 RT's at Dewildt in Hamilton - http://www.dewildt.fivestardealers.c...=&path=ind

    8 RT's at J. Lockwood in Oakville - http://www.lockwoodchrysler.com/inde...=&path=ind

It's nice to see that DC is building Magnums to sit on dealer lots instead of building factory orders (coming up to my 8th week of waiting for my RT and no VIN is in sight!)

    RTMagnum:

Just think they originlly did not intend to release in Canada the Dealers sqwaked then DCX said OK Jan 06 another round of bitchin and the walls came crumbling. The majority still wind up southside and they had a two month headstart(maybe a little more) on orders

No kidding - It was painful waiting for the Magnum to SHOW up on dealer lots here in Canada knowing that they were already on sale in the US (I wanted to test drive before I bought!). Now it is killing me that I see truckload after truckload headed to the states as I drive INTO work......

Oh well - good things come to those who are patient! Keep up the good work at Brampton Assembly - I can't wait to get my RT....
