Nasty Trans Bang

I was coming home from work yesterday and there was a guy that couldn't make his mind up on whether he needed to get in the turn lane or not. I was feathering the throttle waiting for him to make up his mind. I finally thought he was getting over and put mind foot in it some but then had to imediately let off as he still wasn't quite over. The shift didn't come until after I had taken my foot off the gas and then bang. It felt like someone rearended the crap out of me. That is how hard it slammed into gear. It was not very pleasant. I just hope nothing is hurt. Never had that happen before. Any advice on whether I need to be worried about anything?

Sounds like you just confused it into shifting hard, did it make any funny noises or drive strangely afterward? If not, I'd say you're fine.

Had the same identical thing happen to me this morning,man it was definitly a hard shift.But all is well.. So far...

ive had that happen to me in my se as well, wen to get on the gas, then had to let of right about the same time the shift was happening and bang..i swore i broke something, lol

It's been fine since, but man I think I'll be trying to make sure I don't have to let off imediately like that again. I know you can't always plan for things but I don't want to have that happen any more than I can help it.

I have done that several times, same thing, the nut behind the wheel for sure confused the tranny into a hard shift.

No worries at 106K miles no apparent harm done.

Happens to me all the time. Too many slow or stupid people on the road. Let off the gas just as it's shifting and it will bang. Normal. (Don't feel good, but normal)
