    Mopar Chrome Valve Covers

    Hey all!
Hope everyone had a great 4th! Over the weekend I decided to finally install my JBA shorties and my Mopar chrome valve covers. Well the header install is a @#$%& but I think it will be worth it. The valve covers however do not work! My car is a 2006 Magnum RT AWD and the covers will fit but there would be no place to attach the coil packs. Who makes chrome or aluminum valve covers for your Hemis? I heard that Mopar may be making one but can't find any information on it.
    Thanks,
    Mike

I've seen chrome valve covers for the 5.7 at several DCX dealers 'bling displays'.

I thought they looked pretty sharp, but not $350 worth...

Those covers are for the trucks... it's just that nobody is smart enough to tell you that ahead of time! I haven't heard of others in the works.

What about fabing up a bracket for the coils and chroming it to match? It's going to be a little work, but I bet comes out great.

The coil packs will not fit on all the way. One of the lugs to bind the coil pack is too close and the other one is too far. Wonder why they wouldn't make them for the LX Hemi cars. They are nice covers though. Aluminum with chrome plating. sigh....

05 was the only year they were aluminum. 06 began with plastic, thats what mine are.

Just find someone to chrome the plastic, or paint them.

Can anyone confirm this? I have the 06 parts manual and it shows SRT8 valve covers for a 1/3 of the price of non-SRT8 valve covers. I assumed that was because the non-SRT8 valve covers were aluminum. My 05 does have the aluminum valve covers, but I was going to convert to the 06 ignition setup and would need the new valve covers.
It looks like 2012 will be very good indeed.
Unless the Mayans are right, then, well, never mind.

This is what the part # replacement for a 2006 SRT8 looks like.
Not at all like the originals. It is plastic.
