    Memorabilia

When I got my last new car 10 years ago---- ES In trepid I was disappointed that the dealer threw away all the factory packing stuff and had removed the sticker. I you were getting a brand new car FROM the factory what would you ask the dealer to save. I think with the cars in stock they have already removed the sticker

I would want them to remove ALL of the factory packing and tape, so they can prep it and clean it for me!, But they hand me my window sticker which i put in the owners manual book. When i ORDER mine, it has my name on the sticker so i keep it. It is also nice to put back up for information when you go to sell it later.

I just want the sticker, mostly so I know what I got. I just shredded the sticker FROM my last car - I don't see the purpose in collecting them, especially since I go through cars so quickly.

I've picked up a car (VW) where they ripped off the dealer prep plastic in front of me and handed me the keys. It took months before I got got rid of all the goo on the paint. The sales guy was a double-dealing loser who got fired the next month, so it's not too surprising.

    I usually tell them:
Do not install a front license plate holder: I'll take my chances in CA.
Do not wash the car: I buy black cars and nobody knows how to wash them properly (except me, of course )
Do not install any dealership paraphanelia, like those idiotic placards you see on cars.
And with the Magnum, I'm trying to get them to install any aftermarket bits before I pick up the car, including ParkSense (if they can figure it out). If I could convince them to de-badge the car, I would have them do that too.

I forgot about the dealer putting on their decals and drilling the front license holes! Thanks for the tip. In my area a front license is not required so why have the car defaced for nothing.

If they deface your car in any way, you don't have to take it, also if any dealer puts any dealer decals on my car, they have a choice of removing them or paying a monthly advertising fee. We don't have front licence plates in my Province, so they better not drill my bumper.
