Talking Magnum RT with just Superchips under 14 seconds in the 1/4 mile

    Two things probably helped:

    1. Fantastic weather (Density Altitude -340)
    2. Lower pressure in rear tires, 27.5psi (next time down to 25, need grip)

    The details:

    Temperature: 59F
    Rel Humidity: 52%
    Pressure: 30.45
    Dew Point: 37F
Winds: 10 MPH straight down the track against the car
    Altitude: 152asl
    Density Altitude (Calculated) -340
    1/4 tank 91 octane
    91 SC tune
nothing in the car (no junk in the trunk)
    BFG KDW tires
    Rear tires 28 psi
    Front tires 42 psi

Slow reaction, nice launch no spin, good 60' time, got under 14 seconds!
    Engine 185
    RT 0 .643
    60' 2.072
    330 5.846
    1/8 8.965 @ 78.20
    1000 11.692
    1/4 13.993 @ 97.92

Had to drive thru water, Major burn out to dry them, lots of spinning on launch
    Engine 183
    RT 0 .216
    60' 2.159
    330 5.975
    1/8 9.108 @ 77.91
    1000 11.850
    1/4 14.167 @ 97.44

    lots of spinning on launch
    Engine 185
    RT 0 .210
    60' 2.215
    330 6.015
    1/8 9.136 @ 78.23
    1000 11.860
    1/4 14.157 @ 98.18

little spinning on launch, let off throttle and got some grip- BEST trap speed
    Engine 190
    RT 0 .308
    60' 2.236
    330 6.028
    1/8 9.143 @ 78.35
    1000 11.861
    1/4 14.152 @ 98.39

I updated an old post in the Superchips datalogging thread with the new data. I did not datalog the runs with Superchips, tire size was not set correctly so it would have been wrong.

Great job! Bet it feels good to know you in the 13's with just superchips.
Do you have superchips set for increased shift rpm's? Just curious because when I did it at the track I hit the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift. The best I got was 14.029 in similiar temps. Haven't been back since I put it back to stock shift points and added the Shaker.

I was not running raised shift points. I have not run them at them strip. When I tried them it did not seem much quicker on the street. When I was testing them I did not have the rev limiter problem.

I have seen some discussion on valve spring and some float issues with the raised shift points. Also, looking at the stock torque/HP curves it seems that there is a fair drop up there.

I wonder if anybody has run both at the track on the same day to see if there is a clear winner. That would take several runs with careful attention to all the details (like engine temp) to ensure all other things are equal.

My run was almost identical to your second run. I have just a Superchip too.

    Here's what I ran:
    R/T 0.753
    60' 2.080
    1/8 9.105 @ 77.60
    1000 11.846
    1/4 14.163 @ 97.57

I want to get mine into the 13's too, even if it's 13.99 just to say I did.

Have you tried 93 octane with the SC tuner? I seem to remember that the SC premium tune was pretty hot, at least as hot as the Diablo 93. Or a little octane booster? A 180 degree thermostat, remove the engine hat when racing and pack ice around the intake manifold. Experiment with powerbraking to 1800 rpms at launch, try 40 psi all around with those BFG's, also the fans on switch mod. (knowledge base) There you go, didn't spend a lot of money.

There isn't a 93 octane tune on mine, just 91.

I know 89 Grand, but I seem to remember a slight increase with 93 octane when I had the SC. As a side note, We dynoed Chuck n Michelle's RT Charger running 91 octane with no tuner, just stock(supposed to run 89) and got a lot of knock, enough to not continue further testing!

i had a intake & sc when i got in the 13's.... never messed with the tire pressure and didnt have any tire spin till i tryed to bring up (just off the brake and on the gas) the rpm's on launch. 13.80 @ 102 was my best

    nice runs!

I had 93 octane in it on the runs above.

I have a stock thermostat but did not have the "engine hat" on it. My engine temps at launch were < 190.

Powerbraking above 1200 RPMs led to the spinning on the 3 slower runs.

OK, I see what you're saying. 91 octane is the best you can get here in Phoenix, I can't even get 93.
