Magnum RT on dealer lot -- South Texas

If anyone's interested, there's a Magnesium Pearl RT on my local dealer's lot. I think it's been there for about a week based on the fact that they've had an RT in the local paper and the ad has been there for at least a week.

I saw it tonight, the dealership was closed but I spent a good 5 minutes walking around it. It's definitely been test driven, it last rained here 2 or 3 days ago and you can see that it's been driven on wet roads.

Why hasn't it sold? It has a roof rack. That's my guess.

This is where it gets a little sketchy. MSRP = $32,950. The ad this week had a selling price of $31,025, and that's not counting the $1000 off for DC financing. Could this be the same car that they're asking below MSRP? I don't know but I do know that the area dealers haven't been marking them up like you find in other regions.

For some strange reason, this RT WILL NOT APPEAR IN THE INVENTORY LISTING UNLESS YOU FILTER IT BY COLOR (i.e., SELECT MAGNESIUM PEARL COAT FROM the DROP down box), then you'll see it.

Oh yeah, if anyone's going to pursue this, I saved a copy of that ad if you need it. It ran in yesterday's (Sunday 9/5) paper but not today's. I'm pretty certain that the ad pertains to this car because I doubt they had 2 RT's on the lot at the same time.

Lastly (I promise), why haven't I jumped on this deal? Believe me I thought about it but it isn't exactly what we want . . . color, options, etc.

I paid $1700 below MSRP + additional $500.00 rebate for DC Financing. Bought it off the lot 2 hours after it rolled off the truck... Almost the same car as the one you describe; except mine has a sunroof as well.

Personally, I like the lines (+versatility) that the roofrack adds...so it was exactly what I wanted.

I have since heard and continue to hear a lot of good things about the Nav system and u-connect (which I do not have). I may have to go with aftermarket upgrades on these...

Yeah, I was surprised by the roof rack, it didn't look bad at all to me. But like you said, I've heard so many good things about the nav and Uconnect systems that it's holding me back FROM jumping on this one.

FWIW you can add the UConnect and NAV aftermarket for a price competitive to OEM; otoh, the aftermarket unit uconnect aftermarket may not display all the info that the stock unit does.

I hear ya, and definitely thought about doing the aftermarket bit, but those little things were enough to make a difference. Oh yeah, and the wife still wants "b1tch red".

For the record, there are TWO white R/T's with Nav, sunroof & racks on the lot at Palmer Dodge in Indianapolis. I looked at 'em today. Not the color for me, but they SHOW like jewelry - beautiful!

These are fully loaded with MSRP of $35,895 ....any idea what they are actually asking for them?

Well, my bust. Double-checked the stock # on the ad with the stock # of the RT on the lot and they don't match.

So they aren't advertising below MSRP. Sorry for the confusion.

By the way, it's still sitting there as of last night (9/10).

For those of you in Ontario - the dealer I bought my RT FROM (Unique in Burlington) had 5 RT's on the lot (unfortunately I have a factory ORDER and am waiting - 7 weeks now). They have sold two in the past couple of weeks and there are still three left - one Cool Vanilla - two Black.
