The bottom of the stroke piston dwell (dead stopped) time can be changed by moving the bore up or down in relation to the crank center
You can not adjust the placement of the piston through cylinder hone angles. It seems as though he is tapering the bore at BDC in order to minimize piston rock.

    Rods.. ????
Proprietary Length?? They match the cam Even funnier. I hope you mean pushrods. Connecting rods have nothing to do with the camshaft

The top of the stroke dwell can be lengthened or shortened based on rod length. The rod length also changes the piston acceleration off TDC. Along with wrist pin location the power stroke rod angle can be changed too.... TDC and BDC dwell and piston travel can have lots to do with cam timing and ramp design.
This is incorrect. Rod length has 0 affect on dwell time. The dwell time is 100% in the stroke of the crankshaft. If you adjust the length of the rod, you also have to adjust compression height on the piston, but the dwell time is non-affected by rod length.

... Block and crank mods done for clearance...Same

Not so sure.. rod length and piston skirt design may change what needs to be done to the crank

    .
Cam....... What is it ??.. No HEMI specs like I have seen before..
The only thing I can say... 112* center
less than max lift on 09 MDS lifters...
under 280 duration intake and over on exhaust Thats at .006". no lobes that big avail at .050". 280 at .006 is about 230 at .050. Sounds like a 228/234 roughly.

True, it is measured at .006.. You could be close on the duration..Getting a pic of the cam card is what pissed Mark off so much... I was told, in a not so pleasant way, not to share the actual specs with anyone

.. Question on tuning.. Mark said "Have Johan call me" Whats the secret word?

I don't know... All I know is I was told not to take to the track until it was tuned
See above. The dwell time being affected by rod-length is wrong. Stroker affects dwell time.

    Dwell Time

This measurement is of the number of crankshaft degrees the piston is within 0.250 inches of top dead center. It is the subject of much conjecture and controversy in the automotive literature.

This table is for a 3.75" stroke used in a 400 0r 383 small block Chevy engine.

    6.0" rod------52.397 degrees

    5.7" rod------52.071 degrees

    5.565" rod---51.915 degrees

Percentage difference in dwell time between the 6.0" rod and the 5.7" rod is 0.626%.

Percentage difference in dwell time between the 5.7" rod and the 5.565" rod is 0.3%.

Percentage difference in dwell time between the 6.0" rod and the 5.565" rod is 0.928%. (Still less than 1 percent)
So I was wrong, it is affected, but even a huge change in rod length equates to less than 1% in dwell time.

I hope the best for you, I had the same issues with Marty @ KRC Performance, he built my 5.7 based stroker for my Dodge Ram, I asked repeatedly for the build sheet, pictures, anything! never recieved any of it! I had major issue with overheating, heads etc... eventually after 18 months, got all straightened out, had to sell the truck, cause I never knew what was in the motor, so, If I was you, I would insist on knowing the contents of the motor, if you have issues with these guys down the road! then, you in the same boat as I was in? no info, no direction? I would believe your stressin, but, hold your ground! your ultimately paying the tab, don't except no for a answer. If it don't go well, their are other good honest vendors here, I wish you luck with it all!!!

I'd tell 'em to disclose all the information if it's your dime, I would also ask for a warranty, at least 30-36K miles.

If not I'd walk, demand a refund if you've paid a deposit based on bad business practices. If you signed a contract I would send it to a lawyer to review.

All in all, I'd be so far up his a$$ from this point forward, and in there at his shop looking everything over. That's just shady crap Don.

    Install Break..

Ok... The motor is in my car... I'm just a few hours away from making noise .
    .
I did get a full build sheet on the motor. The build sheet includes all the specs, including cam numbers, bore & stroke, head cc, piston cc,compression height, ring location and size, piston pin location, rod length,.... ect... Head flow numbers too..
    .
DON'T ASK or ANY DEALS ARE OFF !!!
    .
For all the doubters... I did get a guarantee..
    ..PERFORMORMANCE AND DURABILITY...
    .>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> caviot..
    .
It MUST be TUNED.. and.. He needs the tuner to call him.
I am required to have receipts for any fuel except that bought at the track
    .
IF IT BREAKS... He does not want the motor...HE WANTS THE CAR
    .
    And as for conpression ratio...
I was told " A premimum motor has to run on PREMIMUM"
    ...
    IT'S A BUNCH... 11.3 !!
    ...
    OH..
Based on what is expected.. I got my $10,000's worth
    .
For the price I got DYNO time too
.............................................PLUS FREE HEAD AND CAM CHANGES TO MAKE WHAT'S EXPECTED...
    .
I was told based on an 12.4 best I will do at least 1 full second faster..

X2 very odd. Also the receipt thing - so you have to prove you don't run it on 87 or what? It sounds very weird to me. Hope everything is smooth sailing and you don't need any of these "clauses" and can just enjoy the car.

Yeah how is he entitled to your car if the motor goes ? WTF ? or does he need to car while he is fixing it so he can do dyno pulls and tuning ?
