    Hose and coolant change?

What's everyone's thoughts on changing hoses? I'm just about to hit 100k on the original coolant and while it still tests fine I am thinking of changing the coolant and hoses. Are hose failures as common as they used to be? Seems like people used to blow them all the time but now I never hear of it.

while you've got the coolant out, why not change the hoses? I'd call it peace of mind.

All done. I ran into a few small speed bumps but taking my time it was about 2.5 hours. The Gates brand hoses fit perfect. The only difference I saw from OE was the upper hose did not have the internal spring. I'm not too concerned. I went for a 45 min drive and the highest the coolant got was 227 going up a hill for a small burst. A few F1 style swerves in lane and blipping the throttle moved the air along.

I would love to see how the OE spring clamps are installed in the factory because they were impossible to reach with hand tools. But, where there is a will there is a way. In the end I replaced them with traditional worm clamps.

The new coolant poured clear but is now red in the tank and in the bottle mixed 50/50.
