HA - My mother said something stupid yesterday!

My mom mentioned she went to BJ's Wholesale Club the other day and noticed some cars out in front on display, when she went closer she noticed it was the same car as mine - Magnum. But, she said, "That car was only $22,000, you paid $30,000 for yours". I said, "But Mom, thats only a 6 cylinder, I have the Hemi". She replied,"Why would you want to do that?"
My husband and I both agreed that was a really stupid question. What do you think?

Some people are just fine driving a base model car, then again some people are also happy driving around in Toyota Echo's

Case in point, my mother went FROM driving a Geo Prism sedan to a Subaru Forrester and couldn't get over the additional luxury and power

Fortunately to those of us who know and appreciate the difference they make upper level cars

I find it amazing that so many people are oblivious to the cars out there and even to the basic maintence of them(even though it is outlined in every owners manuel). I guess I am just a geek when it comes to cars.

First of all Moms always know best, and they never ever say anything stupid, at least it's not our place to say Our Mothers said something stupid.

You bought the V8 because you preffered it to the V6, you can afford it, and you bought it. You don't need anyone else to validate your choice, not even your mother.

Thank her for noticing that you have a Magnum (it's a good thing she has enough interest to know what you drive), and for looking out for you in making sure you didn't pay too much. Then give her a drive in your RT at full crazy speed, and she will never question your sanity again (She will know that you are indeed insane) :D

How true. I am lucky to have both my mom and dad still around, and still married
    after over 50 years!

My mother never was able to tell the difference between a base model and
the 300C, but since I have mine on ORDER (8-3-04), she has started to notice them
    all the time now.

I got an invitation to a local Chrysler Dealership because they were introducing the
new Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Hemi in it, and they were HAVING a party to
    celebrate the new models.

I brought my mom and dad with me because they were giving out free gifts and food,
and my dad is always one to LOAD up on the free stuff like me!!

Anyway, when we got there, they had all the new cars and trucks there, and my
mother looked at a 300C next to a base model, and said to me, "Are getting the nicer
one with the chrome and bigger motor? I said yes. And now that she has seen them
both up close, even she admits the 300C is a much nicer car. She even noticed the
difference in the interiors, and said she was glad I was getting the one with the nice
leather, and what she called chrome on the inside. I told her it was called brushed
aluminum, and she just said it looked much nicer than the base model.

Then, once she saw that the 300C with the bigger motor was getting gas milage
that was almost identical to the base model, even she said she would rather have
the extra power, nicer interior, and extra chome on the outside.

My dad just says he wants to drive it once I get it, so he can see how it compares
to the mopar engines he remembers FROM the 50's and 60's. He is very excited
about the cars look, and just about everyday he will call me and say he and mom
saw a "car like yours Jimbo" on the road.

Be thankful your parents are still around. Once they are gone, all you will have are
memories. Now, you can still talk to them, sit with them, have dinner with them, and
just have a family that is still together. Nothing on earth is worth more than that.
