    "Grocery Run"

I had to run down to the Safeway to get some charcoal to fire up my smoker....

I parked next to a BMW 3something that had the emblems shaved, chrome wheels and dark tint all around. Looks like a well maintained car nice and waxed but it is a few years old. I had a friend who had an M3 a couple years older than this one and this wasn't an M3, moulding, body etc. a little different.

Anyway, I left the grocery store and took the long way out. (I find I take the long way a lot in the Magnum.)

As I pull past the store again the Bimmer is just pulling out. Well, I did manage to catch a light with him and stuck her in 1st and reached ovrto turn off the ESP. He had his window rolled down about half way and I caught his eyes before the light changed. I don't think he believed the station wagon was serious until I gave him a little "tire hello" when the light changed. I had to keep letting off the throttle so he could get close but not get his bumper more than about half way past my rear door. I'm pretty sure he thought the only difference was the hole shot.

Conveniently we got stuck 2 lights later and I looked over and his window was almost all the way up so I couldn't make eye contact. So..... ESP back on.... Hard launch this time and he did the same. I think I was 1/2 a car length ahead in less than a sec. Again I had to keep easing off the throttle to let him get close enough to play (I also hit hte brakes so he could see the lights come on).... By the next light I purposely got behind another car since I was done, he was in the empty lane and stuck his hand out the window to give me the peace sign as he drove by but he didn't put his window down far enough for me to see him....

Man this car is fun to drive. An infuriating to the other drivers I am sure!

reached over to turn off the esp don't you have to pull the fuse? Or am i mistaken or is it the traction control that has an off button like other chryslers?

Yeah i love this car too...people dont seem to take it serious enough, but there is people that know whats under the hood...I too yesterday caught a good race a 1990's 928 S i never had this car up that fast it hit the 128 mph mark pretty quick the porsche was ahead but i was on his bumper so i think if we didnt have this stupid limiter i think i would have been right with him I know those porsche's can move and im sure he could have beatn me but it would have been nice to stay with him awhile longer i just think 128 mph is to slow..Hey does anyone know how fast our cars would go without the limiter?????

Yeah, I read your thread about hte speed limiter My Hemi. Hopefully someone will come up with a solution soon.

gn, the off buton on the dash is really just a sensitivity control it will let you get a little bit more crazy with the car but it will still evnetually kick in. Pulling the fuse is the only way to completely disable it as far as I know.

    LOL! Yeah, I love those.

Last night me and the wife were coming home from a bar-b-que at the parents' house. We take the turnpike which has miles upon miles of straightaways. Anyway, we're in the fast lane doing around 80 (typical TP speeds) when this big Ford pickup pulls in behind me. So I gas it a little (90) and he's still right behind me. My wife looks back and says, "Is this guy trying to keep up with you?" I say yeah and to my suprise she says; "Punch it!" This is coming from someone who usually gives me a look when I overexceed my acceleration.

So I don't hesitate. I drop her down into third and the Ford gets smaller in the rear view. I let up around 120 and the Ford catches up, this time riding my bumper and making every lane change I do. Ok, so it's on now.

This time I don't bother to drop gears and I mash the pedal. Accel is a tad slower now but I still pull out ahead. Mr. Ford is still keeping up. I'm suprised. I guess this Ford had some mods that gave him a good top end. I say top end because f this next part.

Up ahead anout a mile or two is a toll booth so speeds have to slow to avoid any waiting Troopers. When we get to the booth I have to pull into the change booth whil Mr. Ford there has a Speed Pass so he only had to slow down to 25mph. After handing the dollar to the attendant I drop my baby down into 1st and mash the gas. By this time the Ford has a quarter mile lead on me. I'm already doing 80 by the time I'm out of the merge lanes of the toll booth. Mr. Ford is about 100 yards ahead and I see smoke come from his mufflers telling me that he has mashed his gas as well. I guess he's intent on behing ahead this time. By now I'm doing 110 and still only in third gear! (btw: third gear is the a sweet gear. Drop down to it doing 80 and the car really lurches!). The rev limiter reaches around 5500rpm just as I even up with him and changes into 4th gear then pulls out ahead of him at 120mph. This is where DRTHHEMI's mirror sticker comes into mind. "Objects In Mirror Appear To Be Losing". LOL!

He never tried to catch up after that. :D

i got stuck at a light this evening with a Chevy Equinox... moron tried to shoot the light, but i gave it a little gas, and was ahead of HER by about 1/2 car length...

i wasn't even on the gas much, but i could hear this Equinox screaming behind me...

i hit 60, and the wifey stepped in and shut the fun down... i was kinda bummed cause the stupid broad in the Chevy probably thought she smoked the wagon...

You can add Audi's TT to the list of Memorial day weekend kills! The moron in the TT was parked in the interstate fast lane doing 68 mph and holding up holiday traffic. People were going around him in the slow lane while flipping the finger to him. When I finally got to him I swooped him. In Florida a swoop is letting the moron in the fast lane know that SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEPS RIGHT! Anyway . . ... the moron in the TT apparently didn't like the swoop and took to drafting me closer than Dale Jr. and Michael Waltrip. When we got to a more open section of interstate I floored it and the TT became a speck in the mirror in about 15 seconds. All that guy saw and heard was my RT disappearing off in the distance with the Borla Stingers barking. I loved leaving that moron with an audible "get a clue"!

I had a similar experience here with a Honda Civic doing 58 in the left lane (60 mph speed limit). I went around him on the right and gave him a "shaking head" look. Guess he didn't like that. He sped up to try to keep me from getting in front of him (we were coming up on cars in my lane). It wasn't much of a match, I was able to get in front of him easily before reaching the traffic. The funny thing was that I had my wife and son in the car with me. My son loved it. My wife was not quite so excited!!!

Ok, while not a kill, this was fun. Remember now, my RT is completely stock.

Pull up to a light and on my left is a guy on a rice rocket looking the Mag up and down. I smile, do a little brake stand to torque the front of the beast up. The guy nods, points forward and revs. Green light, he wheelies it and is gone. I didn't even get a chance to blink.

1/4 down the road we're once again alone, stopped at a light. He gives me the shrug and I just laugh. He has me roll down the window and thru the helmet says, "OK, your turn!" I laugh and nod. On the green he sits and watches me get almost sideways after a break stand. I see him in the rear view just shaking his head, shoulders kinda bouncing like he's laughing.

Sure enough, we're stopped at the third light and he pulls off his helm with a huge grin on his face. I roll down the window and he says "Damn man, thanks allot!" I say "What for?" With that big grin he says "You've just cost me about $30k!"

    Gotta love it!

I got my RT for 28K and change almost a year ago. Of course, it's got ZERO options. But so what? Who needs heated seats or a navigation system or power pedals? Not me!

I did add the 6-cd changer, trailer hitch, Nivomat shocks, Borla cat-back, Volant intake, Dynatech headers and just got a Jet Chip via UPS yesterday!
