Flash that Improves shifting on 08/05 build?

I not even going to ask about the SRT Fash for my 06 Hemi Charger ,cause IF I understand Mr Funky Chicken correctly Chrysler wont do it or pay for it under warranty on my 5.7.
    Is that correct?
If correct are there any pcm or tcm updates available ,
that would help shifting on an 08/05 build,
    that is covered under warranty?

Im driving my self Nuts looking at all the TCM Flash postings to try to sort this out.

I got 18-031-05 (Jeep SRT shift TSB) and -- essentially -- what it *really* does is update your entire tranny TCM software to revision AI.

That revision has been updated. There are threads here on it although I don't have a direct link. Expect for sure that you will pay for it since it is not an essential or warranty item.

If you complain about some shifting problems and have a knowledgeable service department, you may get this done under warranty. I did.

Your TCM's final updated version would be different than our 05's.
It looks like 2012 will be very good indeed.
Unless the Mayans are right, then, well, never mind.

Mines in right now for it. They seemed like they were going to do it for warranty. We will see. I have been raising hell since day one that the tranny shifts like it has 200k on it. My problem is I test drove 3 06s and love them, then bought an 05. I thuroughly test drove it, and it was OK but after a few weeks I was l like WTH!!!

The TSB only says that the repair is for SRTs, but on the star scan it covers 3.5, 5.7 and 6.1 Liters. Push that issue. Make a 'Pepsi' bet that if the tech plugs it in and it says that it covers 5.7L the flash is on the house. Its worth a shot.

If you have to pay for it I would insist that you are not going to pay more than (shop rate x.4hrs), as that is what the TSB says it should take.

I had it done done on my 2006 (version AK). The 2005's are version AI. Made a noticeable difference in shift firmness. Just mention to them that the 1-2 shift feels soft and they should cover it under warranty sinse there is a TSB for that very complaint.

As another poster pointed out, if you have an 05, you are probably at AI instead of AK. I was able to get a Heat Performance stage II working on Meister's car (AK based). If anyone wants me to hook them up, send me a PM.

Your 08/05 build 5.7 LX gets the AK flash, but there is no TSB to cover it, so you either have to sweet talk your dealer, or pay them to do it. They will not get compensated from DC for something that's not covered by a TSB and this is definately not covered by a TSB.

I would pay the labor to get it done. Dont let $35-$70 ruin your $30k+ car.

How did that turn out, did he still have to use SC for the shiftpoints or will the TCM do it alone ?

Question for those you have done the flash on their 5.7 : is this supposed to be better for the tranny or you just do it because you prefer to have firmer shifts and does this make the car perform better ? ....also ,if you were to put a gsm torque mod without the flash would it do the same job ?

I purchased my "budder" on 06/2005. Does this mean I am running an older software version of the TCM? If so, I wanna know how much better the shifting will be if this is updated.

    Thanks
