    Eibach Lowered Magnum First Impression

    On the outside the car looks great lowered. It appears longer and wider. Even the tires seem bigger somehow. I got looks (more than usual) all the way home. Since the car is obviously lower... you feel lower, almost like you’re in a sports car. I felt the need to raise the seat a bit to compensate... but I resisted. With the lower center of gravity, the car feels even more stable.

    The big question everyone is thinking right now.... how does it ride?

    Well using my ass-G meter I would say the following;
    •Much less body roll in the corners. I estimate it was reduced by 25% or more.
    •Pot holes feel about the same at higher speeds, however at lower speeds they transfer to the steering wheel more. In fact, I think it increased road feel at all speeds.
    •Large dips and highway bumps at speeds are a bit harsher than with stock (maybe 20% more). The ride is still very nice, but without that rolling tuna boat luxury car feel it used to have.
    •I haven’t scrapped on any speed bumps or driveways yet, so I’m confident it will have good drivability.

    This question is FROM someone who is NOT mechanically knowledgeable. If you decide you want to raise it a little do you have that option? I would like to lower my Magnum, whenever I get one, I'm just not sure how I would like the ride. And I was curious if you could adjust how much you wanted it lowered. Thanks.

    Basically, with the magnums we are lowering them by replacing the springs with shorter ones (shorter and engeneered to carry the weight of the car with less wheel travel). followed by a 4-wheel alignment, because shorter springs change the geometry of the suspension. I retained the stock spring, so to go back I would mearly need to put them back in and re-align.

    Different sized springs will change the ride height. This set is suposta lower the car about 1.25 inches all around. Hope that answers your question...

    However... the ride is still awesome with the new springs!

    Hey michael...did you take some before and after measurements to confirm the drop? I'd be interested to see what it really is.

    I fI may Sir!( You know there is a request coming right?) I am very interested in a bunch of measurement and straight pictures of your car with the 20s before the spring, and after the spring.

    And furthermore Sir! (More request coming!) Any chance that I Can experience the effect of the 20s on acceleration with your car? :oops:

    No... Unfortunately I didn’t take any measurements. Could someone post stock measurements at the wheel centerlines to the bottom of the wheel wells?
