Cool Do those cheap Chips work?

Hi everyone - Does anyone have any info on the $10-$20 chip insert mods for sale on e-bay?
Are they worth a damn, or are they a waste?
Has anyone used them with any results?

    Thanks! and rock out!

Actually, where as it is crap, and is fooling the intake temp sensor into thinking it's colder outside, and to dump more fuel, the things do work.

You will get more performance, not much more, but more, especially if you use a CAI.

    Is it worth it.... No.
Will your gas milage be worse.....yes
Will you notice the power.....maybe....just maybe.

My Intake temperature sensor (IAT) reads 18F higher than ambient at startup according to Superchips data- so I suspect it would help me to fool the computer into believing it is the proper temperature. That would have to be good.

The GIFO4 run by LXForums folks test an IAT sensor mod like this. See GIFO4 - Perf Results, Analysis, Comments and Meet & Greet Pics for the results.

Where as I have no 'proof', I have seen .1 second shaved off of a 1/4 mile time on a Mustang GT that belonged to a friend of mine, using one of these resistors. But he removed it after loosing about 3mpg. The car was his toy, but also his daily driver.
