    Cylinder Head changes 03-07?

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows if the 5.7 head changed at all from 2003 to 2007? Any port changes, casting # info, etc....would be appreciated.

    thanks,

There was a major change between the 03-04 models vs the 05-07 models. 03-04 didn't exist. Just givin' ya a hard time.

You might wanna PM some of the vendors who specialize in performance mods (heads/cams/turbochargers/etc...) as it would be in their best interest to know the intracacies of the different models.

    G'luck.

Thanks for the quick reply fellas...

Hah! I wasn't sure my memory was correct on the "birth date" of the Hemi in the RAM's....

GasGunR.... we should try and meet up at some point and talk shop. I'm on the verge of diving in and modding my 2006 R/T but am not sure how deep I want to drown/swim? Ever run your Mag at 66 or the Grove?

    thanks,

Yes they did.03-04 were in the Ram trucks. The difference in the heads is the accessory holes.

Sorry, I meant LX's specifically. It was just a long winded way of saying "I have no clue" Attempt failed.

Some of the accessory holes for the car power steering aren't drilled and tapped on the early truck heads. Also, the 03 head doesn't have the EGR provisions drilled. Both of these things can be taken care of with a drill press and a tap. The ports are all the same.

Ram 5.7 HEMI exhaust ports are round whereas the LX 5.7 is square. Sidenote: The LX 6.1 is "D" shaped... Go figure

I dont think that is correct. The exhaust ports on the 5.7 car and 5.7 truck are the same. As a matter of fact, they are the same part number. The only differene I am aware of is the 03 ram not having egr.
