    "Holes" in the dash, console

    Thanks for the pics, 99300mricva! I really like the 300 series interiors, especially the 300C's, but what's with the rectangular slots to the right of the gated shifter and below the climate controls? I'm assuming they're storage space, like what you got on 300M's without the in-dash CD changer. While storage space is always welcome, why not hide it with a door? Perhaps these spaces can be filled in with optional equipment? What does everyone else think?

    "Holes" in the dash, console continued

    To answer part of my own question, the slot below the climate controls is filled in when the navigation system is ordered. Because the nav unit is larger than the standard radio faceplate, the climate controls are moved down, and no more slot! Here's a picture:

    I still think that the slot should be covered in 300's ordered without navigation. Any ideas on the slot beside the shifter?
