from what i have heard is that the stability control isnt that bad...C&D hates chrysler by the way, and if they can take a shot at them, even on a new car where almost everything is new, they will take the shot...even though lately they have finally started to give the chrysler vehicles their due respect, like the Durango winning the not to sport ute comparison...184 FROM 70 isn't too bad, but a little lengthy...0-60 in 5.3 definitey rocks though

Don't take anything to heart that C&D or MT says. They hate American cars and thats that. GM, DC, Ford could come out with a RWD, V-8, 6 spd Auto, well finished and whatever and they will still knock it, only because its not FROM Honda or Toyota or BMW. Its just a fact of life.

5.3 sec 0-60?! WOW! I ordered a Magnum RT and I hope it runs similar numbers. Was that using the Autostick? Do you have a subsciption to the magazine or is it already out on newstands?

    Thanks

The AutoStick did nothing for the Intrepids. Whether it has changed since then or not, I don't know.
The TapShift on my GTP is the same. No betterment of times but convenient to control the shift pattern and start at a higher gear thru snow.
I have read in a number of places 0-60 @6.3 secs. I hope this wasn't a typo. You know the 5 and the 6 are right beside each other on the keyboard.
Too bad the 300C wasn't coming out sooner. I would have considered the 300C but had to change cars before year's end. I also would have preferred some of the options that are for late availability. The lease rates will probably be high due to the fact that they are keeping the pricing competitive.
I read in the Ottawa Citizen today that the new Caravans and 300C orders are coming in full blast and that they are just keeping up with the orders. I wonder if they will sell any of the other 300s, especially the lowest version, other than to fleet rentals.

It looks like Chrysler is being conservative and advertising 6.3 times but many articles I've read have claimed 5.8. This is the first I've heard of 5.3. I guess I won't truely know until I'm behind the wheel.

Capitalcity R/T: It's no typo... C&D says the 300C will do 0-60 in 5.3 seconds, which is better than the Acura TL, Infiniti G35, and Mercury Marauder. The article did not mention whether the AutoStick was used to attain said time. Quarter mile is in 13.9 seconds at 102 MPH. The Magnum article says that a 3.5L equipped wagon will do 0 to 60 in 7.5 seconds, so perhaps the 3.5L 300 models, being a few pounds lighter, could improve upon that figure just a bit. The quarter mile figures for the 3.5L Magnum are 15.8 seconds at 89 MPH.

fluxanimator: I am a subscriber, but I imagine the issue will be out on newsstands soon. You can also CHECK out http://www.caranddriver.com/.

What's in your fleet these days? Did you get the Grand Cherokee? I know about the Neon. I remember you were looking at the Vibe. See one of these Magnums in your future?

No, we never did go with the Vibe. We decided to save a little cash this year (wedding is just around the corner)

We have a 95 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4 with the 4.0L and my little '01 Neon and her '01 Accord (off lease in 2 months). Once the lease is up (more likely towards the end of the year), we will start looking at the LXs. (C'mon Magnum!)

Wedding; good stuff. Congratulations. A guy in my office just told me weddings are all about 3 rings,
Engagement Ring, Wedding Ring, and SufferRing

I don't agree though. 18 happy years of marriage here.
