i ended up with a bunch of spare parts , i have a running 2005 5.7, a 2008 6.1, block is bad but the rotating assy has very few miles, a comp cams 260 efi cam, .080 pushrods, an arrington 90 mm t body can the 5.7 be bored to take the 6.1 pistons, what about the crank thanks

Wouldn't you be better off with some forged 5.7 pistons, maybe better rods as well. Hell's bells why not drop in a 392 stroker assembly, it's only money.![]()

Curious how you wind up with a bad 6.1 block that still has a good rotating assembly? That doesn't usually go hand in hand.
maybe it's 2 blocks that had a couple pistons exit their bores, resulting in enough pistons and a crank... :S
no i work at a dealer we had a 900 mile 6.1 with a porosity problem ,oil seep thru the casting near the oil filter boss,how much overbore would the 5.7 need to take the 6.1,s
too much. You should fix the block and use it.
no the blocks going back to chrysler,not looking for a 11 second racecar i drive this 300 everyday just looking for more punch, got a bunch of hemi parts, guess i,ll list em for sale, now where did i stash those new 6.4 heads?
its a 90 thou overbore, which is about 30 thou too much IMO.
lol.....those new 6.4 heads will get you no where on that 5.7 block. Any gain you may see from the big valve will be squashed by the incredible shrouding......that is if they even clear the block deck. Might want to read a bit more before you try to show off your parts stash.
not gonna use em gonna sell this stuff, maybe i.ll make enough to buy parts i can use might keep the cam though, been collecting spare hemi parts for 6 years ive got a bunch
