    Big problems with my hemi

OK I know I don't post a lot here... (mostly on custommagnums) but I know that the technical knowledge base here is vast.. I am calling you out to please help me.. here is the post i have @ custommagnums...
I really appreciate any help or ideas
my car went in for some problems. Problem 1 was that my trans was leaking... they said that it was a seal for the harness and its fixed..... cool... problem 2... my car makes this weird metallic sound when it is mostly in 3rd 4th and 5th gear at a low RPM.. (5.7 motor) it is like a tapping sound... I always thought it was like detonation a sound.... but many that have heard it say its not... I thought it was the tranny maybe torque converter.... as maybe water got in there as I also thought that it was the dipstick tube seal... but they claim that there is no water in trans.... and there feel is that its a spark plug knock... they said that they have the whole team in dealership working on this... but starscan pulls no codes and they are at a loss for what it could be.... so not only will they not honor the starscan time unless they find problem.. I have to pay for computer time out of pocket.... and problem is still there.. what do you think and what should I do.... I will be glad to hear any ideas... I just want to get this fixed... the noise really irrates me and my warrany is out in 5,000 miles.... if its detentation I will loose the motor eventually... and that will really suck.. please help me... if Its a ping why is the knocksensor not pulling tiiming... if knock sensor is broken why is starscan not picking this up.. I am so confused

they are telling wayne (OP) that since there is no verification of a problem, then time spent trying to find one isn't covered. If they were able to actually find the problem, then all the time spent looking for it would be under warranty. Sounds like a line

    THE ABOVE LINK

THis is exactly what I am hearing... Wish I was smarter and asked this questioned before I handed over 288.00 to the stealership ... You guys are amazing and I thank you for sharing this info with me... I really was worried about the car as this really sounded like a spark knock... Silly old CAI acting like a megaphone to the EGR thanks... Diablo on the way to disable it and end the noise
    Thanks again

Do the mod and keep egr on. It works like a charm and only takes 15 min. EGR gasket is like $3 from dealer or Mopar Super Center. I just did it last weekend. I think the EGR is there for a purpose, so I would avoid just shutting it off longterm for daily driving. Many disable for track purposes, which is fine.
And put a Catch can on that beast-you won't regret it when you check it in a couple weeks and realize that gook was going into the intake!
