    AWD Dyno Results

I took my AWD Magnum in today for it's first Dyno run. I wish I had found this place before doing mods, so that I had something to compare it to. I was hoping for a little better, but oh well.

Mods are AirHammer CAI, JBA Shorty Headers, JBA HF Cats, Zoomers Cat-Back, SC Flashpaq at 91 tune.

The results from three 3rd gear pulls:

Well, at least I'll have a reference for any future mods!

Need a Cam for that superchips now to get a good curve to 6000 rpm ;-)

Also a nice hi-stall converter... Take advantage of all your extra traction!

    Intresting

about the same mods I was right at 300hp with Zoomers, Gibson, SC 87 tune, CAI

Since that I have added HF Cats 180tstat fan mod and I shoudl be right around 315/320 hp. Ill be getting on a dyno soon to check a few things.

I am guess that 15 hp your down is getting sucked up by the FWD transfer case and diff.

You A/F is right on for making power.

I was hoping to be right around 300. I can't recall seeing any other AWD dyno's on this site. I'm sure there is a notible HP loss due to the AWD.

Sure wish I had a baseline at stock to get a general idea if these mods have truely added much or if Hal has negated their increase. Maybe I should put everything back to stock and do another one.... or, maybe not!

I bet you had a blast anyway though Don!

On my way to Everett today I was cruising next to a guy in a convertible Mustang Cobra. "Sweet Car" It was stop and go traffic and we were commenting back and forth on each others cars. He mentioned that he was stoked cause he just got back from having his car on a dyno, and he was excited with the results. He said he got 417 RWHP out of a stock Cobra. "cough cough" I didn't question him, I just showed off a little when we realized that while we were talking the traffic got away from us! When he caught me again in traffic he was smiling and told me my car launched very hard!!! hahahahaha

I guess that means numbers are just numbers. Doesn't measure the thrill factor.

Edit: I forgot to ask him where the dyno was

Man, if there is one sentence that sums up my near 2 years experience modding and testing these LXs, its that sentence there. Well said!

Thanks for the dyno sheets! Very interesting indeed.

Yes, it was fun and interesting to see, as it's the first dyno I've ever seen in person. It would have been even more fun if Scott (HawkXP) hadn't stood me up!

So... with your win over the Cobra, that must mean you're putting down over 417 rwhp... not bad! I agree, they are only numbers, and subject to a lot of variables. But, it's also nice to see them as a reference point and to see if changing things actually makes a difference.

Yeah, your right. That's why I am looking forward to next sunday, "if it's not raining" I want to run it totally stock before I do anything to it.

It would have been interesting to see what you were at stock. Maybe a stock AWD will step up and do a few pulls for comparison.

Aren't you guys in Oregon at higher elevation? Google says +3,300 average. Are those numbers corrected?

    Have any track plans?

I agree. I wish I had known a year ago that this place could dyno an AWD!

No, we are at most a couple hundred feet above sea level (unless you live in the hills around Portland, then you can get up in 1000+ feet). You'd have to head into the Cascade Mtns. to get up to 3,300 ft.

I'm, maybe, thinking of trying a track run. I haven't done that since high school!
