Autostick, repost?

I was driving around last night and started using the autostick. I was coming to a red light and pulled the stick towards me to downshift. I was in drive but when I looked down after pulling the stick just once I noticed I was in second gear. I remember reading somewhere that the Charger would downshift to the appropriate gear and was surprised the Magnum did it. Well what I found out is that if you pull the autostick towards you to downshift and hold it, it will continue to downshift gears until it reaches the optimal gear for your speed. Pretty neat, sorry for the repost if everyone already new this and I am just now discovering it.

I didn't know about the "optimal" gear (always thought it would go all the way to 1st). I'll have to play with that.

I did know that if you hold it to the right, it will go all the way to drive. So, if you're in 1st and don't want to autostick any more, you can just hold it right for a couple seconds instead of tapping it 4 times.
