Anyone tried other SC besides GS?

    Hey All.

Have one of the first 05 Maggies and have been interested in supercharging it from the get go. Been following this forum off and on and reading about all the blown motors with the GS system. Just wondering if anyone has tried the Vortech system: http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...hird/hemi.html or the procharger system: http://www.procharger.com/hemi.shtml. If so I'm curious if anyone had any problems.

Also has GS finally managed to fix their issues?

    Thanks

Until SEMA there were no other s/c options except for the GS Timebomb.

Now there are a few more options. Armadillo is the testbed for the 5.7 and I think he may be doing it on his SRT soon as well. His is a twin screw s/c from what I recall. You can search his member name to see his posts.

GS has not changed a thing, they just dig deeper into denial....

i would be so scared to put any boost on these motors, sc or turbo. Ive seen these hemis blow up in every application they were boosted.

We probably have over 18,000 miles on several units, 12,000 miles on my Hemi "C" alone. It's all in the way one goes about certain things, and the precautions one takes.

Later this year, we will be taking a sacrificial 5.7 to task on the dyno to see once and for all just how far we can push a stock engine and keep it together. Eventually, it will blow, but how high can we go, anybodies guess right now.

With the right application, 7.5 lbs of boost is in reliability reason. Where can it wind up at? My guess is around 10 - 11 lbs boost on a constant basis. We shall see.

Mine is still running on the original plugs in the car, not the one step colder NGK's we use in our kits. Three times (not intentional) I have hit 10 lbs of boost, and once, 11 lbs of boost. I do not endorse these levels, so don't go run out and crank up boost or say I said it was okay. I am certain that the precautions we have put in place is what has kept it together at those elevated pressures. Our production range is about 6.5 - 7.5 lbs of boost.
