Talking Anyone Else Steal The Show?

On Sunday nights a local Burger Joint has a cruise night. I was returning some movies at Blockbuster (in the same plaza) and saw a bunch of Muscle Cars parked in the lot.

Lots of great cars there. I drove by and noticed a lot of people checking the Magnum out. I drove over by the cars and one of the guys asked if I wanted to hang out. Of course I did. He had me back into a spot to show off my car. (FYI it is completely stock)

A couple of spots down from me is an old and quite beat up car. Can you beleive that it is a Dodge MAGNUM from the 70's, you know the original MAGNUM.(not sure of the year) I wandered over to the guy that was the owner and started talking to him. I told him that I lived very close by and wanted to run home and grab my camera so we could take a picture of the 2 cars together. He said he didn't think so. I was really bummed about that. I have a Cool Vanilla RT and the old MAGNUM was a very similar color in two tone with a darker brown.

I will be sure to check out the cruise night again. If he won't take a picture of the cars together I will take them seperately and photosop them together.

Any Magnum owners in the Rochester, NY area should check out the "Street Machines Of Rochester" Cruise Night at Ricky G's on Mt. Read BLVD in Greece. It would be cool to see some other Magnums show up.

Now back to my original post.

Has anyone gone to a cruise night expecting to be a spectator, and found out that your MAGNUM has seen more attention that the cars in the show?

DCHemi, What night is the "Cruise Night" at Ricky G's? I live in the Rochester area and this sounds like a fun thing to do.

because most cruise night people are *******s with ancient vehicles they have done **** to in 20+ years. Around here they wont even let you pull in the lot with a late model vehicle unless its a corvette for some reason corvettes are allowed to go anywhere.

I recently almost bought a 1978 Magnum just to have one.... they were based on the same platform as the Cordoba, I believe, and were not much in the "muscle" department. Still, the historical liniage, no matter how remote, means something. Last year I asked for a photoshop chop combining the '78 front end with the 05, got no response. Perhaps now?

Gee, I could never guess why they wouldn't want you to join the show with an attitude like that.

    I happen to own a 2005 and a 1978 Magnum
The old Magnum is a fantastic car. It's the 2nd one I'v'e had. They just don't make personal coupes much anymore. Mine has a 360ci engine and 37k miles and no rust. Super reliable car but they tend to get cancer and rot away. If anyone is really interested I can post some pix of the two together. Both are black. Take a peek if you like

LMAO Mike you are so right about the Corvette thing. I went to a lot of vintage and classic car shows and I was alway asked to park my 2001 Vette with the cars. I guess its just that the Vette is the American Sports car. Now I'm not saying this to start a pissy match hear. So all of you Pony car lovers don't start jamming me up. LOL

Right on, the 1978 has the grille I am considering fabricating for my '05. Would show some genetics from the old family tree, and it is the year I graduated high school.

Read the post and I would have loved to been riding shotgun when you tore ass out of the lot and got it sideways
