Anymore info on the sunroof issue!

I am dissapointed that I have ordered a car with a sunroof and it appears I will not be getting one. Anyone have any mofre info? Thanks in advance!

I ordered a Magnum RT with a sunroof and it just went to D status and got my VIN. My dealer said no problem with the sunroof. I would imagine that the sunroof in the Magnum is the same as the 300. There was a post a few days ago FROM a Brampton worker that said they had plenty of them so I'm not sure what is going on. As long as I get mine.

Sunroofs are still going strong. Yes the 300 and the Magnum have the same sunroof. Cant talk more right now, gotta go to work.

This is what I got e-mailed to me FROM a sales person I have been talking to when I asked about the sunroof issue and if it is true...


"You are correct. I just stepped out of a meeting this morning
and our General Manager informed us of the same thing. There is a
indeed a delay in the build out of 300's with the sunroof, however
I do not know if it is till Fall. Is a sunroof something you
were interested in? Thanks"

I know, I know...yes patience is needed. Actually for me if the sunroof issue is correct, it kind of forces me to hold off until a couple months pass. Hopefully at that time new ones will have the pulling to the right issue fixed, any other bugs will be identified, and by then the 'craze' will be older and negotiating might be easier.

I would still not mind HAVING one NOW though!!

As I said in another thread, I was told the restriction means they can't build but so many cars with sunroofs until July 1st, which means they are building a few and cannot meet the demand. Those who ordered earlier may get them built before July 1st, but they can't tell us for sure.

Still, I don't feel like going INTO some kind of crap shoot on whether a given car will or won't have it, get all worked up with anticipation and then be let down. I will ORDER when everything listed is available across the board.

BUT remember-- the Plant closes the wole month of July- that is what I was told...

sad to say.

I find it hard to believe they would close the plant during ramp-up. They already closed the plant for a few months towards the end of last year for re-tooling.

The plant only closes for a two week shutdown, but they've already asked the CAW if they can shorten it this year to 1 week due to the demand.

Robert, are you still in contact with the guys at the plant like Otto or Wire2? If so what are they saying about production, or are they staying silent due to the problems they had last year?
I remember when they were very accomodating about the build on our M's and also checking out the builds on some of our cars.
