Thumbs up Another Gas Mileage Thread

Had to make an unexspected trip to PA this week. First things first I love this car. The Hemi is Sweeeeet. I have always had fast cars but not with all the bells and whistles like the R/T.

    N E ways (gas mileage)
From my local gas station in VA to my Uncles in PA (yes I did set the trip and cleared the milage) my Magnum got 365 miles out of the tank with the computer saying beep beep you only have 13 miles to empty. Get this, on the way home in my driveway I was at 372 miles and still had 30 miles to go. I am by no means lying. Is there anybody getting these numbers. I just put the Borla exhaust and Typhoon air intake. And yes I did hammer on it some as well. Got pulled over but was able to get out of it.

I have a base model 300 and coming back from Chicago last weekend I got 27 mpg and 370 miles out of my tank of gas. I was also just below the 1/4 mark, and this was with the cruise control and a/c on 95% of the time.

Is it really that incredible? If you ended up with only a gallon in the tank that's only 20 MPG.

    Angry

I didn't do the Math but am really shocked on the mileage. I wasn't taking it easy on the gas either. My exhaust is making an awful rattling sound when letting off the gas at high speeds.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think it's sad when we celebrate when we get the advertised milage?

The EPA figures are a joke. Even they hyrbids have a hard time matching those figures.

I usually average out the MPG from several road tests to come up with a true estimate.

Had a road trip for a cousin's wedding this past weekend, from Chicago to Thunder Bay, ON and back in three days. Total was 1540 miles, 62.5 gallons, 24.6 mpg for the whole trip, with a couple 28+ mpg segments.
No mods to my RT except the K&N drop-in air filter, and running Mobil 1 0W20 in the crankcase.

30,000 miles of Hemi love (and counting),
    Galen
