6-SPEED Manual Transmission for LX Cars with 5.7/6.1L

Hi Folks,

I own Keisler Engineering and American Gear & Transmission companies. Last month on chargerforums.com I posted that developed a complete 6-Speed manual transmission drivetrain for LX cars with 5.7 & 6.1L engines.

I have requested to become a site vendor, and they are processing the request now, so I do not want to sound like a commercial here. You can check my profile to find out more about me and my company.

If you can get to WalMart, Hastings, Barnes&Nobles, Krogers or many other stores, Mopar Action (moparaction.com) has a full color feature on the product and first drive. The drive the car at SEMA 2006 last November.

It is a blast to drive, and very friendly for the street. TNCHARGER from the chargerforums.com is looking to get a LX meet going in Bristol at the drag strip and round track.

Welcome to the boards Shafi.

How far along are you with the halfshafts. I'm one a few that has broke one already. Seems if you have the Quaife and DR's, your going to break. I'm sure you will run into the same issues with your conversion with a high rpm launch with DR's.

I'm sure the conversion will be alot of fun to drive. I have a 99 Z28 6M, so I know what you are talking about.

Thanks for the good posts. I need to be careful what I say here, as I am waiting for a reply on how to subscribe as a supporting vendor. We have already put the wheels in motion on ChargerForums.com. Please let me know by PM who to contact here if you know.

Yes, this is an extraordinary package between the LX, 6.1 and the 6-speed. We have sold many thousands of tranmissions, and I have experienced a lot of cars with our transmission, but I must admit.....
this is the best!

The car is so well mannered in city traffic that I would not hestitate one moment to drive the car daily in the city. My engineering department has the car, but I did get a chance to put 200 miles on it yesterday and the day before. What a blast! I even drove through a snow storm in it, and was totally confident in the driver control.

As the Mopar Action article says, the car is a LOT more fun than the excellent 5-speed automatic. Of course, you have to want a manual transmission to make that statement. The LX platform is a modern day multi-function family car, muscle car, enthusiast car, and engineering platform of excellence.

We are looking at upgrades to the drivetrain of the car, including diff ratios, LSD, half-shafts, etc. Our car is basically bone stock except for the trans.

Our web-site has been updated with info, so you folks can check it out. I don't want to create problems for the moderator here by talking about the kit in sales details. From a technical standpoint, it's definitely worthy of consideration.

We would like to host a LX Forum car show at our facility this spring, along with the Charger Forum. Please let us know, and we can look into the logistics. We are also looking at a track day at Road Atlanta and Bristol.

Cool Vanilla is the most frequently seen admin...or at least he is by me. I would say a PM to him is the quickest route. There is a link on the main page too I believe
