the 5.7 manifolds are made of a composite material. A few of the guys on here have shaved and sanded them down and painted them.

Yes it is plastic....

You can use a chromed or polished 6.1 manifold.

i can use the 6.1 manifold on a 5.7 motor?

you'll need to port match them or get the spacers that line up the ports, but you can use it on the 5.7 with the EGR disabled.

It is possible to get plastic chrome plated. What your gonna spend to have the process done, you might as well buy a 6.1 Mani and have it polished or plated.....

He could also find a shop that sprays MirraChrome. That should only cost about 3 bills.

If you are in a large city, you can indeed have a chrome finish applied by vacuum deposition. It's not that expensive, I looked into it and was quoted $280. I ended up with a shaker so elected not to do it...
