    1300 miles with Nav Question.

I just picked mine up on Friday and drove it to Cocoa Beach, Floirda. It was great with no defects
Question is on the Nav unit has anyone figured out how to switch or disable the 10 MPH speed shut down on the Nav unit. Once you reach 10 mph the Nav unit locks out most features, and I know it's for the drivers safey. If the passenger does the changing it should be fine. I've had other Alpine units and there is always a work-a-round with a switch to dis-able this lockout.

From what I have seen so far there are no workarounds for this. I believe the lockout is software driven and triggers on GPS input not a speed input.

For what it is worth if you think you might want to change addresses on the fly, store the address in the "in motion" folder and you can change it FROM there not matter how fast you are going.

I will double CHECK the service manual in the morning when I get home to see if there is an input FROM somewhere that enables the lockout. I doubt it though with all of the CAN bus stuff floating around our cars.

    Maybe ...

I also have a Alpine unit in my motor home and it has a switch (after market) to disable the programing ability on the fly. The Alpine unit uses a remote so folks in the second row can do programing while running down the road.

You're right I did find out that as long as you setup destinations in the address book you can change to them while over the 10 mph limit.
