    Question Window problem

I have looked for other references to this problem and I have had no luck. The right front window will only move 3 to 4 inches per press of the switch, either driver or passenger side. This applies to up or down. Full down or up requires 6 to 8 switch depressions. This has been an intermittent problem, works for 2 months, problem for 2 days. It is now permanent. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the regulator (5065474AE per service documents) and declared it fixed. It isn't. Any ideas on the faulty component?

I have the same problem with my drivers side window. Works for two months and then one day it decides it's not going to have the auto up or down feature. Then next day it works again....

Sounds like maybe they undersized something in the windows department on our car? (bad drivers? ) My left rear will stop working every so often and apparently dealers won't replace much without actually seeing it themselves.

While I realize Rule#1 applies to almost every 'customer based' transaction, even when I showed them VIDEO of it not working they still didn't fix it.

Is there some area that needs a bit better lubrication or something? Bigger Motors? More Power?

This is happening even while holding the switch down. Press the switch and hold, the window moves 3 to 4 inches then stops. Release the switch and repeat, same thing both going down and up. Same symptoms from drivers door switch and passenger door switch.

sounds like the windo weather stripping is causing extra force on the window. this extra force will put a strain on the window regulator motor. this motor has an internal thermal swithh ( breaker ) that will open and reset itsself after the current goes below the specified level.

have your dealer inspect the window track and look for any type of obstruction or abnormality.

this will fix the problem i hope.

The windows that you have in your car always have a window regulator that makes them go up and down. These regulators usually convert the rotary motion of the motor into the linear and vertical movement of the windows. A problem in window regulator usually results in windows that are stuck in the up position, the down position, or somewhere in between.
