OK, the car is about 90% on the exterior, I would like to overlay the black fender vents in carbon fiber and also install my brakes (which will have to wait a little longer, b/c I've been spending TONS of cash)
now to start getting serious about more power.
Many months ago I installed the vortech supercharger but never hooked it up. So it was mounted but none of the belts were hooked up. I've been searching all around and have been sourcing parts that I need and I have almost all of them now.
they consist of
SRT4 stage 1 injectors CHECK
KB BAP CHECK
Crank pin kit CHECK
new power steering pulley (needed for vortech installation) CHECK
8PSI vortech pulley CHECK
So I got all those parts then talked to my tuner and he informed me that I needed even more.
I got the upgraded fuel line kit from speedlogix and I also ordered a zietronix wideband (both put me WAYYY over budget)
so within the next few weeks hopefully I'll get this thing running like the machine that it is.
You have gone way beyond my expectations of what I thought you were going to do with this car. WOW!! Just WOW!!
"A workshop is a Temple where we invoke the blessings of the Gods of invention.
And seek refuge from the heretics who know not the joy of creating something unique."
I wanted to do something different, something you never see on newer cars. I was sick of thinking of interior boost gauge placement so I decided on EXTERIOR boost gauge placement. It looks very Very nice, within 15 mins of driving I have people breaking their necks to see whats on the hood.

just read this whole thread (and the vandal one), VERY impressed. this car is coming along very nicely. much better than its alternative if you hadn't bought it
2006 Magnum SRT-8 -- Stock.............for now.
I, too, just spent an hour reading this thread. Bravo Sir.
Have ya shown the previous owner pics of the car? (I see it was an EBay bid, but it no longer exists).
MY RIDES
2005 Dodge Magnum - with a thirsty Hemi
2006 Jeep Commander - 4" lift and off road ready
I want to contact the owner.
I have his name and state from the ins report.
What do you guys think?
damn, its been weeks since I've updated this thread.......
I've been driving around a very happy 2 months on a lightly modified tune. For a heavy car its surprisingly light on its feet, put her in D from a stop, stomp on the gas and you go sideways without an issue, traction control on or off, The cam still has that muscle car sound and feel (at idle, the car feels like a gang of rioters are trying to flip it over)
The car definitely doesn't attract as much attention as my srt4 did, only a select few gear heads will rubberneck and try to look at the car, otherwise people barely notice it, which is good, I was getting tired of pulled over by police. On long road trips its nice and smooth over bumps, the coilovers are dialed in perfectly and my friends that have driven the car cant tell that its on coils, it doesn't rub or bottom out, nada.
Only thing I don't like about the cam is that sometimes it does a little gear hunting, meaning it doesn't know when to downshift. So if I want to romp on the gas randomly it has to think about it, pick the wrong gear, and mess everything up, probably something I have to work out with the tune, hopefully.
so one morning a week ago or so I realized that my car has a blower and I'm not using it
I connected all the piping, cooling system and the head unit itself, but never connected the pulley to turn the blower, b/c I didnt feel like installing the 800 other necessary parts to run the supercharger, or paying out the anus for tuning. Not to mention we just had a baby (it was delicious) and whenever I wanted to sneak out of the house for a few hours to work on the car, I got the infamous "and where do you think you are going" look
so the kid is a grown ass man now (2 months) and after buying my new truck I decided to get back to work on the SRT.
do work, son!

you can see my new aluminum coolant tank in the upper right hand corner, I'd like to remove as much "plasticky" stuff as possible from underneath the hood, I also deleted my windshield washer reservior, in its place I'm sure i'll put some more stupid ****.

I'm also replacing my drivers side plastic inner fenderwell, it had a hole in it for some reason and it drove me bat****.
so here is whats on the agenda for finishing up the blower
Kenne Bell Boost a pump (increases fuel pump voltage for more flow)
Install 8Psi pulley (6-7 psi comes stock with the kit, fuk dat)
Crank pin kit (pins the crank to the crank pulley to prevent the pulley from overspinning on the crank)
SRT4 stage 1 injectors
-8AN stainless line from fuel pump to rails (needed when running over 7psi)
zietronix wideband (with capability to log AFR over RPM)
Upgraded power steering pulley (machined aluminum, stock is plastic and can crack under boost)
She's coming along nicely. Good job on this build. Major props.
BAP - hopefully this weekend
injectors - hopefully this weekend
-8an stainless line - hopefully this weekend
wideband - installed!
8psi pulley - installed!
crank pin kit - installed!
power steering pulley - Dont get me started....
so I got the pulley in last week or so and I sent this email off to vortech
ME - "quick question for ya, got my power steering pulley in the mail from you guys but I dont see a way to mount it to the power steering assembly, looks as if the hole is too large. Perhaps I got the incorrect part?
thanks"
Vortech - "you also need the hub, did you order the hub as well, its a two piece pulley"
ME -
"seriously its a 2 piece setup?? why on EARTH would I just need one or the other? especially for such an inexpensive part
why wouldn't you just charge 120 for a COMPLETE power steering Pulley instead of just half assing it and telling me that I have to buy 2 separate parts?
was I crazy for ordering Vortech Power Steering Pulley 05-09 300/Challenger/Charger/Magnum and actually thinking that I would get something that I could install on my car without having to purchase additional pieces as well?
Its like ordering a milkshake and after you pay they just pour it into your hand and them telling you "well, you ordered a milkshake and we gave it to you, that will be another 2$ for the cup"
ok, done ranting, sorry but I'm just frustrated as I want to get my car done
If I order the "hub" today, how long will it take to ship? do you have them in stock?
Vortech - "we can get it out to you tomorrow"
ME - *Pays vortech 40$ for 3 day shipping from California, for a part that weighs .01 nanograms"
THE NEXT DAY
THEM - you also need the bolts/washers there are 6 bolts and 6 washers, they are $5.88 each that comes to $70 plus shipping for the hardware
THEM - and we regret to inform you that we cannot ship out your pulley until tomorrow, meaning it may not arrive on friday, you will have to pay an additional 30$ in shipping for 2 day
ME -

so may damn wires, most of that is for the custom headlights
I'm also removing my hid fogs, the lenses are covered anyway so theres no point to having them, I dont think I've ever used them once.
