Want to Remove Chrysler Emblem on Trunk

On the 2006 300C is the emblem just taped on or is it mounted to trunk..I want to remove it but I dont want to have to take it to body shop either....Thanks

Warm it up a bit with a hairdryer then use some fishing line and saw it off! Piece of cake!

Then use some goo gone or something to remove the left over 3M tape residue (if any).

OK thanks...I debaged the rest of my car...when I went to do the trunk emblem it felt like there was something there stopping my fishing line so I stopped...I just wanted to make sure it wasnt mounted to the trink with rivits, pins...ect...

Rick - as long as you're talking about the emblem and not the silver wing, you should be able to follow smooth's directions. If you're talking about the actual wing, there are two holes underneath it where its mounted on the trunk and you'd have to have those welded/painted if you remove that.

Guess I should have been more clear.....Yes thats what I want to remove...the whole wing....Thanks...I figured that there where pins....Guess Ill stop by body shop and check price..they should hook me up as many front ends as ive had replaced...lol

All I want back there is the SRT8 badge

haha yea I'm sure they owe you a bit of a discount if that's the case. I took mine in for a quote and they came back with $400 - let me know what they tell you. I'd be interested in seeing if your estimate is in the same ballpark.

Well then my original instructions won't work.

DIY, no bodyshop, this is simple, just takes a few minutes.

For the wing, yes there are two small mounting studs behind it. You want to slice until you hit the stud then use some cardboard and slide it under the edge of the wing you've already "lifted" to kind of prop it up (but don't break it, use a skinny piece of cardboard) so you can then feed the fishing line through the middle section of the wing (like threading it through) between the studs and continue on, etc.

It works better when it is warmed up or has been sitting in the sun to heat up. There will still be a lot of tape residue so take your time with that.

Yes, if he's leaving it blank with no wing at all.

No, if he's going to put a different type of wing on there.

I think besides the SRT8 badge he wants to have a naked trunk. But smooth is right you can still "fish" the wing off of there without taking it to a shop if you're just replacing it with a different wing.
