    Taking off the Moulding

Oaky.... you all aren't going to believe this.

First off, thanks to the many posters who have finally inspired me to remove my mouldings. But I can tell you, I'm as nervous as a long tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

A couple of weeks ago, I had my C into the dealership to replace one of the roof mouldings that was coming up, no big deal, and it was covered under warranty. Talking with my Service writer, he pointed out that the moulding on the passenger door was starting to lift, so he ordered a new side piece for it.

He just called to say the part was in and when did I want to bring in the car. So..... I told him I was thinking of taking off the mouldings, and he offered to do it for me AT NO COST! WOOHOO!!!!!

He said Chrysler was going to pay him either way, so bring it on in.

I'll drop off the car Thursday morning and be moulding free by afternoon. I don't even have to break a sweat or open my wallet.

Lithia Dodge of Eugene (Matt) you ROCK!

I hate you. I just took mine off Sunday in a 95 degree, 100% humidity Texas afternoon. Well worth the sweat. The car looks fine. You will love it. Know I just worry about the door dings.

Where's the love man????? Hey, it's only 102 here today and supposed to hotter tomorrow, so I'm really glad they're doing it.

Of course the first door ding I get, I'll be screaming out a rant of expletives that would embarrass a sailor.

My dealer removed mine at no cost. As far as dings, park in the furthest spot at any store and do a little extra walking. Almost 2 years and not a single ding!

Yep... do that already. Drives my wife crazy. There's parking lots I won't even go near.

So the mouldings are off, and much to my relief the paint under them was fine. Of course I need to clay it and wax it. So much for watching TV tonight.

I'll get new pics up next week as I'm off for a 3 day golf tournament in Bend.
