I just called Superchips for my brother and a friend for their vehicles 300c and 2003 Dodge Cummings Turbo Diesel truck.

They said Management said there is no user community desire for a handheld programmer for these 300c's. Call them or email and tell them they are WRONG!

He said if they get enough calls/emails they will develop one.

This product just rocks on Cobras. Granted gains are sometimes easier on a supercharged car but take a bonestock Cobra + $400 handheld tuner and you have added 40 rear wheel HP.

Additionally it can control redline, speedlimiter, shift light, tire size & gears (for speedometer calibration) and so much more.

I also got one for my wife's then Stock 04 Mustang GT and it added 20 RWHP and it was noticeably SOTP quicker.

Since I am a Cobra guy first and just on this site for my brother if some of you die hard 300 guys want to cross post this on other forums please do so.

I am the owner of a 2005 Dodge Magnum with the 5.7L V8 Hemi engine. I am also an automobile enthusiast and would like to see a product produced for this vehicle. By stating that there is no user community desire for this product is like saying that the earth does not rotate about its axis! Owners of this vehicle have spent a premium for the engine and performance associated with it, with a base price of $30,000 and no used car buyers yet, you know that the price of a programmer would be less than the average monthly finance payment, and we're not cheap people. I am sure that FROM one specific community, (www.dodgemagnum.net) there would be atleast 10-25 people interested in helping out to test the preliminary release and would buy retail version when released. Please do not disappoint us, someone IS going to release a programmer (and sell enough to payoff the R&D costs first week of sales), and I am sure you'd rather it be you than Hypertech or Jet.

I had a hypertech programmer for a 1996 Chevy S10 4.3L v8 and it did wonders to performance, had different tunes depending on if you had a 180d tstat and ran premium fuel. There's many stations around my house that rotate their "premium for midgrade cost" sale, so I'd like a good excuse to run the 93, like some agressive spark tuning!

the problem with the C and the Magnum is the fact that the computer is impossible to work with...they jsut got the one for the Hemi trucks out.

Here is the reason, cars flat do not sell as many vehicles as trucks do. All tuner companies are doing the trucks because there is a better return on the investment of time and money to develope. There just are not as many cars to give us this investment return. It is as simple as that. It is not that we cannot do one or that we do not want to do one. It is just that the return is not as great and we do not have a chance to make a good return is all. As long as truck sales rule, as they do now in the overall sales market, car programming will suffer. Now of course we do program some of the more popular cars out there because they are good cars to get magazine article written on and good attention grabbers. Examples are the GTO, Corvette, and Mustang. Superchips and the rest of the tuning companies operate on numbers just like all companies do. You prove to us that you can sell thousands of tuners, not hundreds but thousands of them, that will get our attention and consideration to do one for your Hemi. We look at sales numbers of vehicles and then try to figure out how many of those owners will consider purchasing a tuner for their car. With the low production of the 300 C and the Magnum at this time, the numbers are not there. Possibly with the new bigger Hemi engine, and if the popularity continues to grow with the new Charger coming out, there is a possibilty we would take a look at doing one. Hope this little explanation helps you understand. Not that you want to but just the same that is the # 1 reason.

It will be an add on module. Beacuse of where the stock PCM is located,
there is a fitment issue. No space. We have vehicles available for testing.

hello,

i have heard that there is a lack of interest on your companies part in regards to producing a handheld tuner for the magnum rt/300c due to its low production numbers.

please keep in mind that this only the first year for this platform, and thru most of the year, there has been a 3-6 month wait for both the hemi models. a third shift was assigned to the brampton plant just to try and keep FROM getting any further behind.

as well, not only will the charger be on the same platform, it will be built with the hemi, and so far the coming buzz is that dodge is taking a cue of the magnum buzz to beef up numbers early.

i also understand that the can bus makes producing a tuner a bit of a challenge. well, you might want to get used to it now, as its obvious that can is the next wave of factory programming. and even if it takes a couple of years, you can be sure that trucks will follow the cars(i do beleive part of the issue was truck sales outpacing car sales?)

so instead of just focusing on trucks, why dont you throw our community a bone? it will work to your benefit, as well as ours.

pesonally, it doesnt matter to me if you guys have the first one out. whoever does is going to get my 4-500 bucks. and while that isnt much to you, keep in mind that less than a year after release, there are hundreds of us out here that feel exactly the same way. in a year or less, theres going to be thousands. and the first one to market is going to get it all

The Jet products were a big disappointment to DC owners in the past. Specifically the 300M and Intrepid R/T with the 3.5L engine. The Jet did nothing. Seems with these "chips", an add on gets defeated. Somehow! Don't know the details, but I was always looking for a proven performer for my R/T and Jet tried but fell a bit flat.

If there is "no market for these" on the 300C and Magnum, why the heck did they come out with one for the Marauder? You guys have at least 10 times the market we have and we got one.

Someone is feeding you a line of crap. What they really mean is "uh, we ain't good enough to crack the code yet and wanted to give an excuse to buy some time."

Not to mention, the 2006 Ram is going to get the LX engine installed INTO it so they too can have the MDS system... so they are looking at the 300c, magnumRT, Ram, and Jeep Cherokee all HAVING a similar engine... isn't the combined number enough to build a tuner? They need a reality check... BAD.

I was even able to get my hands on a tuner for my oldmobile FROM a friend of mine...
So why is it so difficult to see the demand?

They are just bieng pussy-fests about Cracking the computer :lol:
