    Shaved Door Handles

I Met A Guy That Owns A Hot Rod Shop. I Told Him That I Was Interested In Shaving The Door Handles. He Told Me About A New Product, Magic Touch By Lafranceautoworks. He Said That There Is No Body Work At All. I Like That Because The Car Is New And It Would Suck To Start Putting Bondo. I Am Also Thinking That It Might Not Match The Factory Paint. Probably Have To Paint All 4 Doors. I Know You Still See An Outline But It Still Looks Cool. I Am Getting A Good Deal, Paying 700 Canadian For All 4 Doors Including A 9v Battery For Back Up Just In Case The Battery Ever Dies. That Also Includes Install. Even Using My Alarm. I Need Some Feedback, What Should I Do!!!!! Pleas Let Me Know, Does Anyone Have It!!!!! I Want To Be The 1st 300 In Ontario!!!!!!!!

that is a great deal. I'd have him go ahead and smooth em in though. Yes that means painting but that also means no lines. To me, shaved door handles should be just that.... shaved. No lines, no remaining clue they were there.
They will still work the same, touching them where you would have to anyway, they just won't be visible.

There is a link somewhere for those things. I think they are fugly. The only thing I saw on the site of interest was a clear adhesive pad you can place on the glass to activate the solenoids. Otherwise I must say I agree with Grinner....shaved is shaved and everything else is an imposter. I think that'w what Grinners said???

Remember these are the ones the fiery brit chick had on the overhaulin Magnum. I thought there were some issues with them and the "pad" looked very funny to me.

    Probs

We had lots of problems and in the end unfortunately have gone back to the stock handles…. Jay has told me that since then he has sorted out all the bugs but I think I’ve been bitten too many times to go back, once it locked me out, once the doors opened in the rain and several times the doors would not open and or buzz like heck!

I can’t afford to have the baby locked inside the car!

Also the one down side I found is the fact that you clean your car from top to bottom then have to slap your hand over the car handle to open it… big ugly fingerprints and hand palm marks got on my nerves.

I was wondering why the pics you sent me had the handles back on! Makes sense now!!!!!

Another option to shaving it to find some flush mounted handles and put those on. My friend did that on his car (non LX) and looked really tight... and smooth... (hmm... that combo could get me in trouble!)

We totally agree that if you are willing to do paint and body, that you should weld in the handle areas for the best look. That is why we developed the glass and mirror sensors for that application.

But for those who don't want to spend the money on paint & body, or they have a leased vehicle that they want to return, the handle replacements are the way to go. Yea, it still has a line around it, but it looks better than the handle sticking out. Either way works, it's up to you.

Hit me directly with any questions.
