    Second Belly Pan destroyed

Bought this last one brand new, for around $200 IIRC. Don't think I'll be buying another. I lost the drivers side brake duct on the freeway though. Hoping I can find it on the way home today and it isn't too banged up. I think I'm going to make a cardboard template of the front area that got destroyed so I can at least have one contact point with the bumper on the drivers side front (not side of car, but just to the left of the middle of car) and use some Gorilla black tape to hold it together to the plastic. Then I will PlastiDip the entire thing and reinstall like that. It has to hold up as good as the cheap plastic.

The thing that pisses me off is that the car isn't that low (stock) to begin with, yet I can't seem to keep one of these in tact for more than a year. BOTH times I've been on the freeway and thought I had a flat at first. Maybe I need a SUV.

I believe without it I run the risk or a sagging bumper in the middle and more dust/road grime in the engine area. What a pain in the butt.

    /rant

See if you can have a local fab shop laser cut one from stainless for you.

    Good luck.

I just made a metal belly pan front and rear for someone.

Need a tire calculator? Use this one.

I lost my first one at the Mojave Mile at about 147MPH and it just riped off. I had the 2011 lip and pan put on and my guy at the body shop did a great job. This one stayed on just fine at over 153 MPH.

I really don't see how most of you guys lose the belly pan so easily just by driving alone since the one on my 3.5L is still intact just fine and has been for the last 4 years. Now my SRT8 on the other hand never came with one though but the person who had it before must have ripped it off by parking too close to the curve because the bottom lip is all scraped up and there are signs on it that the bumper was pulled on pretty bad.

That's because the 3.5 can't go that fast. JK

Somehow the bolt that keeps the two belly pans together fell off because it's missing and once that went I think the weight+wind speed was too much for those plastic push pins. With everything installed, it seems to be fine, but if one or two lil connectors go, you can easily lose the whole thing. I thought mine was completely done, but it was just the front part that connects to the bumper, the rest was scrapping against the freeway and somehow didn't fall to pieces. It's my fault for speeding. So this is better than a ticket. Hopefully I find my brake duct today, the WRX I was trying to show up hit it as I passed him.

Haha don't worry I know the 3.5L is slow. Another reason why I now have an SRT8 as well lol

Still sucks that the belly pans on these cars can fall off at any moment and without warning sometimes too but you guys must be driving pretty fast it falls off while driving though lol

I made a replacement for the front one out of a piece of aluminum. I used what was left of the old one as a template and also left it on there, put them back into place with the alloy being the outside lowest part. It's helped by flattening out the front which does sag a little and I think that causes us guys some problems. I also put a sh tload of SS screws all along it so it's much sturdier now!
It does surprise me how little is holding the front of this car on!!

I rode without mine for almost 3 years with no adverse effects. That was when I was in Phoenix too.

    (Waiting "patiently" for the 300C SRT8 8-speed) Coming.....soon?
