    painting the chromes

anybody painted the chrome pieces? I want to paint the chrome on the rear bumper, front bumper and the lower window trim... but keep my handles chrome.

I spoke to a body shop and they said they can do it but cant guarantee that it wont chip.

If youve done this mod.. please post pics and let me know how it's holding up.

    thanks in advance.

As with any paint work, its all about the prep.

The parts on the front & rer bumpers is plastic I believe and the Lower Window trim is stainless steel. I don't know much about automotive painting but I think stainless is harder to paint? much more prep work.

the only pieces that where chrome was the corner trim. the rear valance, window moldings, fog light bezels, and windshield molding were all black plastic and the radiator cover is carbon fiber. did most of the painting myself with the help of a few good friends.

Well,I can tell you the belt molding(window sills)don't like paint over chrome in cold weather......I would recommend getting the rubber ones and having them painted if your in a cold climate.
