I have a question!
Is there a way to find out what options and features my car has. I know on GM vehicles there is a label that lists all the option codes that the car has. GM refers the them as RPO's (regular production options). When you decode the codes they will tell you everything about the car like: drive ratio, exhause info seatbelt types .... all kiinds of useless information but a practical use would be a listing of the electronic components like the type of radio. The option codes are usually 3 alpha numeric codes, ie UP3 is a radio option, W52 is a suspension package or L82 is an engine option Does Chrysler have a similar label?.
What makes me curious is, the other day I took my car to the dealer because some of the navigation features didn't work. The basic functions of the nav worked but, i couldn't operate it from the steering wheel controls and the information did not show in the EVIC. The dealer plugged in the scan tool and toggled the nav features on. It makes me wonder if there are any other goodies that are hidden.
I was reading the owners manual and it talks about all of the available features like "Smart Beam headlights". When the manual makes reference to any feature it says "if equiped"
How would you know if your car was equipped with some of these features if they aren't obvious?
Please let me know if you have any advice.
