Smile new mods in the mail suprised me (LED mirror covers)

So I came home tonight and on the counter was a white box with Chinese writing on it

I opened it up, and carefully wrapped were my LED mirror covers

I had ordered them from ebay on January 4th for $69.00 + $35 to ship them. It took 6 days to arrive via HK post parcel mail (it was shipped out on the 8th according to the tracking number online).

These are the ABS plastic ones, and I ordered them from eBay member "motorparts07". Here is a link:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chrys...QQcmdZViewItem

I ran downstairs and put it on the left side first.. and it fit... PERFECTLY.. Then I thought "sh*t, the other side better not have a 1" gap"... lol..so I put the right side on, and it fit, PERFECTLY again. i was amazed, since Ive read horror stories about how some people got them and were 1" shorter on the right side.

I am very happy that both sides fit nicely with absolutely no gap!!! I believe the reason people are having trouble fitting these are because you have body colored mirrors, or chrome mirrors, and I think these were designed to fit non-chrome and non-body color mirrors. (I have the base model- no body color, not foldable).

They came bubble wrapped, not a single scratch or crack on them. The covers are gray (apparently primed and ready to be painted) but I will sand them with really fine sand paper before getting it painted (though they feel pretty smooth). The LEDs are already off (separately bubble wrapped) so it has literally no prepping before painting.

I plan to get them painted this coming weekend, and get them installed around the end of this month with the help of MR.I

All in all, I think these are very well priced and I could not be happier with the fitment.

Here are some pics, courtesy of my crappy 0.3mgp cell phone cam:

By the way, I know the fiber glass ones have a nicer looking LED, but FB is more fragile, and people had the most fitment issues with those. I looked at several Mercedes today (C class, CLK, etc) and these LEDs that I got are actually nearly identical.

Ready to be painted, 3M double sided tape already attached.

I put the LED in to make sure it fits. It does

here an idea of how far it wraps around the cap:

It sticks out at the very edges so people driving beside you can see it blink:

If you are thinking about purchasing these.. DO IT.. do not wait.

I will post painted/installed pictures as soon as I get them on.

wirring isnt the easiest, but im getting some help on it

if you have the base model, its easiest to tap the wires behind your guage cluster

the C/SRT models it is a lot easier. there is a DIY actually if you look it up

pics will be taken when im done fore sure

by the way, if you are going to buy them, get the ABS plastic ones (what i have).. the fiberglass ones will break/chip easily, and have fitment issues

Fitment around the front part lacks a weee bit, but being black on black, it is not noticeable unless pointed out. The LED's suck in these period though. I had my lenses painted with the hopes of the R/T lighting up nicely...It kinda does, but not to my liking. I like these covers mostly because they BEEF up the mirrors and make them look meaner coming down the road.

    thanks for all the comments

cm2005300.. no idea how you would replace the LEDs if they go out... rip them out? not sure. LEDs last a long time given they dont get water damage
