Need Help -- Junk Stock Wheels On My C

I've recently purchased a 300C AWD. While I noticed the wheels were "blistering" a little prior to the purchase, I figured I'd deal with it later.

My car is 18 months old and I have bubbles and blisters on three of the four wheels. This doesn't seem right.

Since my car has 80K on the clock, I'm thinking a dealer will just laugh at me for trying to get something done about it.

Has anyone else had this problem with their wheels? Does anyone know who makes them? I thought I'd try the manufacturer to see what they will do about it.

My car has not been abused and for what I paid for it, I'd like to think the wheels would still look good 18 months later.

Any advise, contact info, etc. would be appreciated.

    Thanks

If these are the factory wheels and you are talking about the lip, since the middle is plastic then that is a common problem. I think the dealer stopped caring about that issue a long time ago but you can try and get them to do something about it.

    Good luck.

Next best thing might be to sand and paint the lip yourself.

My original wheels each had at least one point on each that was blistering, I caught it within the first 6 months and the dealership managed to have them all replaced under warranty. Now that I have had the new ones for just over a year, they are starting to blister in some areas again. I'm not going to chase it as they will now only be my winter wheels, as I have uograded my summer rims.

Good luck, it's always woth a try for the warranty.

    Wheels/rims

Mine have not done that, but I've read of others doing things like this. At 80,000 miles, I think the dealer will not be helpful, unless he is your very good friend.

    the following is my $0.02:

I would change the color of the wheels. Why not?
Get some sandpaper, smooth 'em out and get your spray can ready.

Thanks. I have the stock wheels and unfortunately, it's not the plastic lip.

I'm guessing a sand / repaint for four wheels will cost about the same as a decent set that someone may be selling on this site.

I have summer wheels but that's an '86 GLHS. It's an LX without the X !!!
