Looking for information, might buy one
First post so OMG HAI EVERYBODY. Now thats outta the way, was looking for information on the 300C.
My fiance came home from work and said coworker offered to sell her his son's car for the rest of the loan. Said it was '05 300 with 80k miles for $8,000 left on the loan. I told her to find out what trim and last night found it was the 300C.
She was thinking about dumping her 2001 Grand Jeep Cherokee Limited with every option (10disc, heated seats, auto climate, etc) that she bought just this early summer, for something cheaper before she goes to school. This is just about half the cost! We weren't really looking for a replacment yet but since this kinda came outta no where, sounds like a hot deal not to pass up.
What's there to know bout em? I got the general idea of specs from googling but anything else worth while knowing? I'm from a ford family (drive a '99 Contour SVT myself) so don't know much about other brands. I can damn damn near everything on the road but dont know trim levels, options, what engine, etc etc.
Buddy said they're crap cuz why do you think it got dumped already. He tends to hate big vehicles but knows a lot about cars so dunno.
Thanks for any help

If it's a 300C, it's got a 340hp Hemi under the hood, and your buddy needs a poke in the eye, the 300's didn't get 'dropped', only the Magnum. The Charger and 300 live on.
A 'C' won't be a stripper, but it might not have all the bells-n-whistles, worth a look if it's been taken care of. For 8-grand it's worth a look.

What little she knew was black exterior on black leather, sunroof and cd player haha. She's gonna try to find out more tonight but I want to see it.

Definetly worth taking a peek at for 8 grand

x3. Remember these cars are a product of the marriage of Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz. Those leather seats are straight out of the parts bin for the E-class if I recall correctly. Lots opf shared components, You will have the Mercedes ESP, which is traction control on steroids. Us guys who think these tugboats are sports cars hate it but for normal humans its a life saver. Also the transmissions on these cars are the WA580, which comes straight from the Mercedes AMG line and is rated for some ungodly number like 850 hp. So far they have proven to be indestructable and believe me we've tried.
Gas mileage on the highway will be great for a bigass V8. 25 mpg is for real if you keep it at 65 and cruise control.
At 80k miles these motors are nowhere near done. The car should be in pretty good shape if any sort of care was taken of the thing.

^QFT
The only thing I would be concerned about w/an $8k price tag is how well it was taken care of...cosmetically and mechanically.
Unless maybe this person has more money than sense and is too lazy to sell it for its actual value...
who knows...in any event if you don't buy it hit me up...I'll take it off their hands

Theres some info im looking for. I myself would hate the traction control but the fiance would need it. She hates winter driving so every little bit helps. She also hates me ebraking every chance I get hahah.
My gparents had a Town Car not long ago with traction control and wasnt bad at all getting around with RWD and that so I feel she could live with it. The guy said its FWD which i just laughed at. So either he knows its a 2wd and just assumes its front since most are anyhow (and doesnt relize what this car really is), or he's knows the front wheels have power but don't realize back does to so its awd. I dunno
My concern is yes, the 8k price tag and the 80k miles on a 2 1/2 yr old car owned by this guys son. Thats a LOT of driving and can't imagine it being a easy going 80k with a 5.7...

You can get the noesp mod to take care of the traction...
No need for ebrake...RWD baby!

The $8k is very good for a 300C. 80k miles is pretty high, the engines were designed for over 100k miles. The main concern is condition. With that many miles the seats might be a bit cracked and worn. If it has the tortise shell steering wheel that could be worn and need replacing. Etc.
Either they are full of money with little smarts, or it is fairly abused.

yeah it sounds like he is a) clueless and b) if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Just keep your eyes open, and good luck.

deemit the guy doesn't work tonight. She said he does have some pretty good money though. He honestly might be the type to even take it back and return the money if it was a problem.

Wish I could get one for 8K!
