Look for throttle recalibration procedure and try that. Could be a vacuum leak. Could be a bad throttle position sensor. Those are possiblities.

For starters, he's only got the V6 so no drive by wire = no throttle calibration. Secondly the vehicle is cold, does it idle like that after it's been running for a while or only when you first start it?
