I think I'm missing something...

Been lurking on the message board since I bought my 06 SRT in August and I have a question I haven't been able to find a quick answer to, I was reading some other posts about a factory sub installed but I don't see one in my trunk. I'm assuming the previous owner removed the sub but how would I know if the AMP was removed as well? Where is it located? I may want to try and purchase a sub from someone and get everything back to factory specs...

the sub for the '06 300 is mounted to the parcel shelf and not visible from the trunk or interior.

not all the srt's came with the rear sub. It was an option.

Just for clarification... what kind of car/model do you have? You might be able to get a replacement window-sticker from a dealer, using your VIN. That should tell you if there is (or is supposed to be) a subwoofer in it.

I've got a 2006 300 srt. I think I've got all the option packages....I'll have to try and get my window sticker somehow.

You want the build sheet, not the sticker. Build sheet will have EVERYTHING your car came with.

Is there an email address imshouldmrequest the build sheet from? I took a quick look on the Chrysler site and didn't see anything.

Do you have the REC Navigation head unit and Boston Acoustics sound system? If you do, you have the 8 speaker system which includes a center dash speaker and a rear deck mounted sub. The BA system also has an amplifer under the drivers knee bolster to the left of the steering column. An option, only for the SRT8, was a powered sub in the same location using the same wiring from the amp as the non powered sub. The only way to really tell is to drop the felt panel in the trunk under the back shelf.

The base 6 speaker system does not have the center center dash speaker nor the sub. It doesn't have a separate amplifier under the drivers knee bolster either. I doubt you have this version because it didn't come with the steering wheel controls.
