How to install the cargo net hooks?

I bought the cargo net and the two upper side hooks (Mopar part # 4628911AA) that are supposed to hold it to my 2006 Chrysler 300C HEMI. They seem to be made from some nylon material. However, even though the slot were they are suppossed to be inserted seems to coincide with the hooks sizes and rectamgular shape, I am not able to push them all the way. I have put some grease on them. Even hammered them a little bit, without luck. No installing quide came with the hooks or cargo net. Does anybody knows if there is a trick or procedure for installing these cargo net hooks??

just put the net hooks through the holes you are trying to put the upper side hooks in. Isnt there a large oval hole near the top...right by the wing nut holding the tail light in?

here's mine...perhaps my 08 is different from your 06 but.....

Thanks. I don't remember if there is an oval hole. But even if it is so, the net hooks sold to me are completely different, they are mounted over a rectangular base. Coincidentally, there is a rectangular hole exactly in line with an existing hook on the underside, but on the upper side (near where your car's is). I've tried very hard to insert these hooks without luck. Can you send me a picture of the lower side hooks in your car. Do you have the part number of your hooks? This evening I'll take some photos of my hooks and the rectangular hole and post it here.

    Thanks again.

Oh, Jeez, now I understand. I never needed the upper hooks, since the net clamp is supposed to be hooked into what I call the rectangular holes (in your case oval). What the Mopar store sold me are the replacement for the lower side hooks. Darn them!! Now I will have to convince them that they sold me unnecessary parts in order to get a refund.

Thanks again Shoeboy 23. Like somebody said a long time ago: "A picture is worth a thousand words".

Shoeboy23, I do not know how to post pictures here. It seems that I have to upload them first to some web site and then post the URL of the image. Where can I upload the pictures so that I can post an URL? By the way, do you know where can I download the VES system manual. My 300C did not come with manuals. I have downloaded the car users's manual from Chrysler's website, but haven't found the VES manual. In fact, the seller of the car bought for me the VES remote and wireless headphones, but I noticed the part numbers corresponded to the 2008-2009 300C. The headphones worked without issues and the remote I think so. But only with the VES manual I will be able to verify if all functions are available with this remote.

    Hi guys,

I bought side cargo net for my brand new forester. Ordered at subarupartsmall. Now that it's here, the instructions says I have to drill holes in the back of the car to install hooks. It says there's suppose to be a clear area where the holes should be drilled, but there's no such thing. What should I do?

This is a forum for Chrysler 300's, Dodge Chargers, Magnums and Challengers.

If it were me...there is NO WAY, I would EVER drill into my ride! GOOD LUCK

These are the photos of the unnecessary hooks (one of them) which I succesfully returned today to the Mopar Store and the one of the rectangular hole where the net clamp goes.

Hey, can one of you guys post a pic of the net installed, but from a couple of feet back to see the whole thing? I've been thinking about buying this, but am trying to picture how much of the trunk it can net off. Thanks if you can!
