About LinkBacksRoad trip... Miami/Ft Myers and my mds seems to have gone AWOL!? WTH? Monitoring my evic and she wants to stay in performance mode...it's too long a trip on Alligator alley for 16mpg! Can't figure out why...headwind maybe?(c'mon, no f-n way right?) A/C on auto maybe? Still not sure why but once we turned north past Naples and all of a sudden its back on! Go f-n figure...total trip avg: 18mpg!(ouch). If I don't figure this out soon Sunoco's stock is gonna go way up! Any ideas would be appreciated guys as an (obvious) return trip coming up on Sunday.

Hey Bob, never took it past 72 mph... usually at that speed and with the mds working my real time mpg was around 20-21.

Hmmmm only thing I know that will shut it off is 15mph or lower or 80mph or higher...or autostick. Wish I could help you....personally had mine shut off for 2 years..LOL

If I have that problem, I'll tap the cruise up, let it get up to speed, then tap it back down and MDS usually kicks in ... unless of course I am going 68+ mph up a hill or into the wind.

did you recently change the oil? these vehicles only use 5w20. anything thicker (even 5w30) will affect the oil pressure enough that the computer will not be able to activate MDS.

yep, without a doubt...there was a thread I saw awhile back about calibrating the mds, I will try to find it and see if it makes any difference. Thanks again for the input guys!

so.... I have a 2006 300c.
How do I know when the MDS is engages or not? I haven't seen it anywhere in the menu thing in the dash. Did I just pass it or what?

Sorry but I'm not exactly sure for the 06's...on the 07's its in the EVIC standard and the EVIC 'easter egg' mode. I think if you do a quick 'thread search' you will find out the 06 options...good luck.
