    Got Smoked Friday

Took on a Jaguar XJ Super V8 from a stoplight. We were DEAD EVEN right up until the light turned green!!! He pulled away from me fairly easily. I told my wife that he should be able to do that with the power he has, but if he comes up against an SRT-8 he's in for a rough time!

Not to mention the fact that he paid much more for his car than any of us.

Wow! That is a lot of punch for that car! I would have never imagined it.

Oh yeah! Not worried one bit - I only paid 25k for my 06 (brand new after the 07's hit the streets) so I got way more "bang for the buck" but I give props when they are due - that car hauled A$$! My first, and surely not last, whoopin in my C. You always remember your first!

I was very interested in the XJR and the S-Type R Jags before I bought my SRT8 300C. I test drove the XJR and it felt like old school. Heavy front end, somewhat numb steering and dead brakes. Granted I was used to driving my modded 5-Series BMW, so steering and brakes are not likely to be in the same league, but it just didn't do it for me.
I have always loved Jags, though... the interior makes all LX cars look like low-end rentals!
The other deterrent was the cost of any mods, and there weren't many available. A simple rear spoiler would be around $400-$500. Trick the motor? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I made the right decision going with the SRT8. I bought a new one for not much more than the cost of a used S-Type R. The last gen XJRs are a steal right now, though.

Anyway, don't feel bad about getting tromped on by a Jag. I believe the one you raced also had the supercharged 8 in it. A nice and very fast car!
