Sorry if this has been threaded before. I did a quick search, but surprisingly came up empty... so I'm posting.
A month or two ago I printed the corresponding posts from a 3CF thread and gave it to my salesman to share with his service dept./body shop. I hadn't heard anything from him or them since.
However, last week my wife took the Heritage Edition in for an oil/filter change, and without her asking they told her that they wanted the body shop to take a look at it because they now had a fix for the bumper sagging from someone who had printed it from the internet (guess who that was?!). After looking at the H.E., the body shop guy said he wanted to try the fix on our '05 Blue 300C first, since he had seen that it was the worst.
Well, we had an oil change appt. for the '05 today, and they scheduled the fully warrantied repair during the afternoon. They brought my wife home (thank you!), and said they would pick her up, unless we wanted to come together to get the car after they closed (which is what we did).
From what I can tell in the dark of the evening, the bumper sagging is gone and the fitment looks terrific! This morning, a close look at the rear in the daylight and the problem is gone, just as shown in the indicated post. We will schedule the H.E. work for next week after I get back from a trip to Chicago in the '05.
So kudos for the simple, yet effective fix. And kudos to my dealer, Kincheloe Motors or Parkersburg, WV, for providing warranty coverage beyond the ineffective TSB solution. That's the kind of service that keeps me coming back.
