EVIC CNN Software Flashes?

Does anyone have the info on what the latest CNN Software flash version is for the 2006 300C's? I would like to find out what each one does. I see that the 3.60 Version dated 6/11/04 added the oil can. The 3.61 Version dated 7/27/04 added the digital speedometer. There is supposedly a 4.04 dated 2/07/04, a 4.05 dated 4/12/05 and a 4.06 (date not known) Version available. I don't have the capability to set the auto headlamp sensitivity, or the Cruise Control Icon which others have with later build dates. My build date is 6/05. I think mine is Version 4.05. I just upgraded my evic to the latest software version. I have a 2005 build vehicle also. In order to get the ccn (which controls the evic display) to accept the new software I had to go in and change a few things in the download file. Evidently DCX doesn't want 2005's to have all the new stuff the 2006's have but they don't know me very well do they?? LOL! I seriously doubt if any of the dealers would even be willing to do this. I now have the cruise indicator on my evic. I am going to atlanta today to help another forum member with some downloads and I will play with the evic along the way. Not sure of all the other changes, but I know there were some changes to the diagnostic screen. I will post more info later tonight.

what version did you upgrade to? also, i am very interested on how you were able to do this.

When you download from the cd to the usb flash device two files are sent. One file is the actual upgrade and the other is a file that tells the starscan which part numbers this file applies to. I went in on the second file and changed the part number to the part number of my evic. I upgraded to 04843155AH CCN Evic Cruise indicator in cluster. Until I made the change in the second file, when I tried to flash the ccn module the file wouldn't show up on the list of files available for flash to this module. The most dangerous part of modifying this file is that technically I could do something really stupid like make a ccn file available to flash to the pcm. Now that would be ugly!!

Hi MagnumFreak. Thanks for the info. Please let us know what icons you have working. The Cruise Icon and one that looks like a squirilly wire is shown on my cluster but does not light up or work. Your P/N is evidently different than the 300C one. We have P/N 04843155 with two letter addons (AE). What Version does your software say? Thanks and best regards, Bob.

So, it is a good news bad news situation. First the good news. With the software upgrade i get the cruise on and cruise set notifications on the evic. Nice little feature. Now for the bad news. Some of the features in the diagnostic mode no longer work. Oil pressure, pedal position are two important ones that come to mind. Second the engine coolant temperature no longer works. May have been assigned a new address with the 2006's so the cluster no longer sees it. It is not only the engine temp in the diagnostic mode that is messed up but the temp guage on the panel that doesn't work. I will just have to reflash to an older version tomorrow. Not a big deal since I have figured out how to fool starscan into sending the file even if it is an older version. I will probably try one of the many other files for the ccn to see what features I can get enabled. I will post more tomorrow.

Hi MagnumFreak. Note my updated message above. I was wrong on the P/N. Mine is 04843155AE for the 2006 300C that was built in 6/05 (without the Cruise Icon). If you went to an "H" version maybe there is a "F" or "G" version. Can you revert back to an older version after you updated to a later version? Regards, bob.

You can if you uh shall we say "convince" starscan that is what needs to be done. LOL! I am going to try some things tomorrow and see what works on our 2005 version of the evic.
