ESP/BAS disable?

On my 2007 Charger I can turn the key and hold it for 10 seconds or so when I'm rolling 10-15 MPH and it disables the ESP/BAS until the next time I shut it off,, some kind of "dyno mode" or some such.

I tried this on my 2005 3.5 300 Limited last night and it didn't work.
Is the key trick just on the newer years?,, and if I want this on my 300 bad enough, do I have to wire in/do the disable ESP switch trick?

The key trick only works on cars built April 2006 or after

So I haven't looked at my production date on my 06 300c yet. But when I did this key thing, about 10 - 15 seconds, it gave me a single chime. I didn't even think tov mess with the ESP button, but after the chine, the esp was still engaged. Do I do the key trick and THEN hit the esp button?

No.

It most likely is built prior to April 2006 and the trick isn't working.

I know back when I had a honda, turning the service light off was a PITA...royally....if i didnt get the timing of the button sequences just right, it'd take a good 15 minutes just to turn the damn thing off.....just was wondering what the exact sequence was....but i suppose i can play with it

For me, it's worked at just about any speed over 5-10 mph .... I let her cruise, feet off the pedals, and turn the key the 3-4 seconds required, then you hear a ding, the dash lights/radio/HVAC lights shut off and come back on in 1-2 seconds, and the ESP/BAS lights should stay on solid, meaning that HAL has been given some time off

and you can go

and do some

.... LOL

To turn the system back on, shut the engine off and re-start it. No lights should be on and no trouble codes should be tripped.
