    Did you like the 300M?

Should get my first 300C next Thursday (can't wait!), I ordered the CRD (common rail Diesel) version for the fuel economy and power (torque is almost the same as the HEMIs). I test drove the small V6 model when the 300s first came out, I think car that size needs more power for sure. I have always like the ride, the looks, the interior etc.

I remember when Chryler released the old 300M few years ago I though it looked horrible and things were even worse inside. I had the opportunity to drive that car with the larger V6 for a week, after two days I took the car back, it really was that bad! The ride was terrible, torque steer through all the gears. It handled bad too.

Thank god Chrysler/Mopar has stepped up its game and looks like we are in for a new treat in the shape of the new Challenger, keep'em coming I say!

I personally think that Black 300M Special is one nice car. I love my 1999 Platinum version, but then again I just love Chrysler 300s in any version.

    I had a 300M and a 300M Special before I got my 300C.

They were both fine cars, but just not in the same league as the LX vehicles.

Heres a photo of my Special in my back yard:

I'm a big fan of the 300M. Only thing I don't like about it is that it's FWD. Absolutely beautiful car in my eyes, comfortable, beautifully built, and I was impressed by the one I drove. I would definetly love to pick up a 300M Special. I looked at them, but I really need a truck and I'd kick myself if I bought a 300 instead of a 4x4,although I know I'd love the 300.

I liked it. I would have gotten it or an Intrepid R/T if the Magnum hadn't gotten the green light from DCX.

I always thought the 300M was a fine looking car. I liked the first one best for some reason. For some reason they started looking like Intrepids to me after that.

I still love the LH cars... In fact, I don't want to get rid of my near mint condition LHS anytime soon, since it still looks awesome and drives great (nearing 100,000 miles).

MagnumSXT, what do you mean, "first one?" There was only one generation of 300M, that was manufactured from 1999 to 2004. There were however, slight trim changes in 2000, and 2002.

Here's another picture (in the back behind the LHS, you'll see a champagne colored '98 Concorde, which was mine but I sold it to my brother when I bought the LHS):

Not sure what I mean. I know that when they first came out I loved them. Maybe the other cars started looking more like them and that's why I didn't want one as bad any more. It seems like the trunk changed quite a bit. I remember it as pretty sqauare and high compared to the newer ones but that's obviously just my perception.

I still have mine. I haven't driven it in over a year. Haven't really had the motivation to sell it yet. I still really like them, and it's still one of the best looking sedans out there in my opinion. Here's a look....

I liked the 300 M but liked the Intrepid R/T styling better, I had 3 of these.
Very predictable in very hard cornering with good tires.
I drove all of them hard, especially on a real tricky road called the Ortega Hwy (US 74) They were all bone stock, never moded a new car 'till the Mag.
The Magnum needs to be watched a little closer running hot on this road, especially after some libations at the Yacht Club following a weekend of racing. I got a little hot one night with a Vette chasing me, I got sideways a bit, but he crashed hard into the rocky hillside. I did go back and help him out. He was really toasted, and I drove him home, leaving FGlass all over the Cleaveland Nat forrest. I think he reported it stolen the next day (he was wearing driving gloves)
The old platform was great, I wish I had of kept my '02 Intrepid R/T it was perfect, I gave it away to the Dealer for like $8K with 86K miles. It would be a better car for my Wife to drive than the Honda, but she would have no part of it.
The 300M still looks great and if well maintained will handle very well.
Mopar rocked then, but really rocks more now!!

I had a 2002 300M before I had my 300C. I think that the 300M (01-04) with the differnt tail lights is the second best car for the money, first being the 300Cof course.

I had a 1999 300m Charcoal... I loved that car. But because the extended warranty ran out and it was having issues due to my driving style I traded it in for $8k to get my Magnum RT 05.
